Default Adjusting wind

I'm working more on autos, so I'm adding wind and turbulence (Texas is windy). How do I tell what direction the "runway" runs or what is the default direction I'm "facing" when the heli resets? Not a show-stopper, but I'm not figuring it out on my own.

thanks, Dan

Have you actually noticed wind working in AccuRC? I try to set it to the day's conditions but it doesn't act any different than no wind.

Maybe that's what's going on. Dan

Yes, the wind does work, I'm sure of that. The main difficulty is to figure out its direction relative to the point of view of the pilot, since there is no windsock nor any other artifact to easily determine it. If I recall well, in the scenario I usually flight, the pilot is facing towards 0, so if you set wind direction to 180, the wind blows towards your face. My guess is that this can be extrapolated to the rest of the scenarios, but it would be great if the development team could confirm this point.

It would also be great if there were some kind of auditory wind feedback about in order to remind you that the wind is blowing, and how strong the wind is.

A very effective way to determine the wind direction is trying to do a funnel. The helicopter goes out of the funnel as soon as the wind is perpendicular to the disk rotor.

I'd like to see a windsock added to the fields, and to the wind dialog, it would make wind direction a lot easier to see.

I like having gusts and the direction shift some too like you can set in other sims. In those I usually add a windsock to the field if one wasn't put there.

Yeah, having gusts and shifts would be more realistic. I'd quite like the wind direction and strength to randomise each session too (within preset limits). Would make for much more realistic practice.

Not sure a flag would be very helpful. I'd prefer an indicator in the HUD.

Me too! Id like randomizes wind direction and it seems this would be very easy to see.
