Default Charging NIMH

Stupid question maybe and I’m sure I am doing something wrong but here it is

Charging lipos no problem, but I can’t charge my TX nimh battery at any more then 0.7 amps for some reason, the pack is a 8cell and even when telling the charger it’s 10cell I still can’t ramp up the amps?? If I go up to 1amp it just tells me charge is complete

Any ideas why? My charger is fully capable

Lipos I pretty much know all the ins and outs but nimh I’m not understanding

Is there something in the program that has a limit on capacity?

Maybe it is using a set target voltage for charging and that's all the pack wants to draw.

Its been a long time for me, but to the best of my recollection you cannot fast charge NIMH batts like lipo chemistry. They trickle charge at only 1/10 C rate and take 8-10 hours to fully charge and can be damaged if charged faster. They can also overcharge if fast charged as they dont just shut off like a lipo does when full voltage is achieved
