Default Peregrine Speed Speed Measurement

Hi

I want to introduce you to a new way of doing and sharing speed measurement. The web site is peregrine-speed.com.

The idea is to have a verifiable world ranking for speed models.
We did our third test today and I used the SAB Comet at idle speed (60 Amps max) By the way I did manage 246 km/h (See Nasafi website in speed locations) last year October 2018 but did not fly it until today.

To get to the speed photos: After opening the site, click on the date next to model (all in blue is clickable) and then on details on the end of the rows.

The speed distance is set but the GPS is used as a time sync signal and then also as a verification of the distance as we will not be on site everywhere to verify it. Classes are limit as it would also be hard to verify remotely.

The website still needs some attention but we focused on the concept up-to now.

Hope you accept this initiative.

This looks very interesting and I have entered my information to register. Please post details or send me an IM of how much a system like this would cost.

Thanks.

Quite a few helis times has now be measured and is available on the website peregrine-speed.com.

A forum , no to take away from this forum, has been added to discuss specific speed related issues and models that already took part in speed runs.

Default Speed in closed circuit and online shop

Speed in a closed circuit has been implemented and tested and the results available on Peregrine-Speed.com. It was a test to prove that it is working, so extremely slow time.

The online shop has also been opened, register to access. This will allow all to race online against each other.

Default Speed in a closed circuit

We have our first heli result for our speed in a closed circuit event held in the Northern Cape in extreme windy conditions.

This kind of event might be more suited for 3D helicopters as you basically stay on one height all the time and need fast accelerations around the pylons.

peregrine-speed.com for the results of that event
