Default Head speed recommendations

I am mostly a lower head speed flyer, but like to crank it up every now and then. Current setup is 1450, 1650, and 1900.

What is the general consensus for a higher head speed that gives crisp stops and direction changes, but does not kill the batteries in 3 min?

Setup is :
logo 700
Vtx 717
scorpion 520kv
Pulse 5000 mah 45c 12s pack
13 tooth pinion

Thanks

Tim

I fly my logo 700 at 1900rpm all the time. It gives me smooth and hard 3d and doesn't kill the batteries. I get 4 1/2 minutes flight time with vtx 717 and the xnova motor with a hobbywing 130 esc. Hope that helps you. I'm also using 5000mah batteries.

I practice orientations at around 1500rpm. I sport fly at around 1800rpm. Any slower than around 1700rpm really shows my limitations in collective management.

That is exactly what I do with 1450. Orientation practice. It actually does nice 3d at the head speed. I cranked my high head speed up to 1950 and 2050, I liked 2050 better but did not like the reduced flight time.

According to my manual, the Logo 700 with 717s max head speed is specified at 2100 RPM.

Running the numbers with 90% motor efficiency and 98.22% ESC gets the Logo 700 to 2100...IF the pinion is 14T

12S / 3.7v / 90% / 520kV / 136T / 14T / 98.22% ESC = 2101

13T number is 1887 @ 95 ESC...so at 1900 You are banging the batteries for all they are worth...3 mins sounds typical

Hello!
I will ask a question.
On my Logo 700 installed Kontronik Kosmik 200 and Pyro 750-56L2 gear 13T. I had no experience in helicopters before, this is my first model of size 700. I am comfortable flying at low speeds below 2000. Can you please tell me if it makes sense to change the engine to 750-50L2 and gear 14T?

I'm using a Pyro 750-50L2 with a 13T pinion on my Logo 700 and it works for me. I don't fly high head speed.

I fly my Logo mainly at 1550 which gives me enough authority for my grandpa flying. Occasionally I will bump it up to 1650 for some fun but I prefer the lower head speed.

My logo 700 is truly the first 700 heli Ive owned that flys very very nice at below 1900. IM at 1700, 1950 and 2100. I honestly dont like it much at above 2000. [It doesnt need it. I can smack it hard at 1700 and its sooooo smooth and I get 5 minute flights. The logo 700 is big, light and insanely quick n nimble at 1700rpmssss
