I still parallel charge my batteries but I think it is necessary to have something like a Battery Doctor to check them first. I make sure that there is no more than 0.3v between any of the cells in all the batteries connected and my batteries stay pretty consistent as I fly with a timer. I've had these Gens Ace batteries about 3 years now and they are still very good and consistent. As for charging I stick to 1C but I think they would probably be ok at 2C however I have plenty of time for charging so I stick to 1C.
At the risk of drifting off subject how do these electric cars get away with fast charging?. I believe that the batteries are Li Iron so they won't like to be charged fast just like our batteries. If you fast charge all the time will the life of the battery be severely shortened. This is something never mentioned.

My e-revo uses LiPo batteries just like helicopter. Two of them - 2s - 5000 MaH ... I've never heard you can charge them any higher than 1C so thats where I charge them.

The fact is substances and powders added to lithium in packs are improving, for instance they are replacing graphite powder additives with new stuff which allow higher charging currents. Therefore you can charge faster and batteries dont heat up and get damaged as they would before. So truth is charging at 1c is more and more outdated.

That's wery Interesting. Maybe You could explain "new stuff" and how it works? I know a little about Lithium Battreys, i understand how dotating with Yttrium improoves longer store Times to Lithium-Ion Cells for example. Maybe I coud understand how new stuff improoves the batterys to make them stay cool at high charge Rates.
