Default How to improve Logo 550 canopy mount

Hello
I am looking for the best way to improve the Logo 550 canopy mount.
I have tried several part :
- RC Booya quick release canopy mounts for Logo 500
- Specter 700 magnetic canopy mounts
- shortened MSH Protos 700 magnetic canopy mounts (MSH71022)
All are too long, and the rear canopy have a large gap.
The length between the frame and the inner canopy is only 8mm. It is very difficult to find a short mount.
Has anyone tried other mounting ?
I don't know if MagMounttz magnetic canopy mount can fit ? (Sab Goblin 550-570) or Sab canopy mount for G500 (H0321-S) or Kraken (H1101-S) can fit ?
Thank you for advice.

What are you looking to improve?
My stock mounts work just fine and no canopy gaps?

I use 3/4Ē K&J magnets, washers and carbon tubing to make my own for the front on my Synergy E5. They have a lot of holding power. Then I used Protos magnets in the back.

I have found the Logo 550-600 canopy's to be about the simplest canopy's to install and remove with stock hardware. They just work stock but I do add the magnets to the back edge on all mine to keep the canopy lined up nice on the rear. I make my own magnet mounts for the rear but feel the stock grommets do the job simply and well . The ALEES Rush and Synergy E5 where not fun to install or remove stock , they both got upgrades

When I owned my Logo 550 and 600 I used RC Booya key chain style in the back. But I donít think itís necessary. Dennis has more experience with the Logos than me. If the stock system works well use it.

Hello
It is my first Logo heli.
I am using magnetic mounts on my Protos 380 and Protos 700.
The canopy attachement is incredibly fast and easy, and very reliable even during hard 3D flight.
Once you have used these device, you can't go back.
Here is my adaptation on Protos 500 :
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...74#post7162767
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...74#post7195997
So, I would like to fit such a device on my new Logo 550.
But, It is quite difficult due to tiny clearance between frame and canopy.
The MSH magnetic canopy mounts (MSH41182 or MSH71022) are perfect but too large for the Logo 550, even by shortening them.
Like the MSH magnet, I would like to have a plastic rim around the inner magnet in order to prevent sliding between the two magnet parts.

I get it.
I had a scale canopy come off (magnets) and go through the main blades. The damage was over $3,000.00 After that there is no way I'm using magnets alone on anything.
Weight seems to get brought up all the time here, and of course magnets are heavier and more costly than stock. I purchased a Logo years ago that had the Booya's. I liked the ease but hated the gap at the back of the canopy.

While the "body clip" style mounts on the Logo's do take extra time to remove/install, the security of them is worth it to me.

Double check RC Booya's website as they have several different sizes to choose from.

The one they sell for the Logo 550 might not be the ideal size.

I use them on my Diabolo and am spoiled now as they are so quick to attach-detach, but are super secure.

I use stock Mikado on my Logos but if I ever decided to change them, I'd use RC Booya for sure.

I use the RC Booya Synergy E6/E7 Quick Release Canopy Mounts. The studs are short and the appropriate size for the Logo 550 SX V2. I also glued Neodynium magnets on inside backside of the canopy.

I might have to get some of those. I just don't understand why RCBooya doesn't list these for the 550sx. I think they are loosing out on customers.

Now if someone could tell me what ones will fit the Logo 700/800 I would get a set of those also.

On a side note...your wiring is...well, unique. I have thought about doing something like that but my OCD just wont let me. It takes me longer to wire a Logo than it does to build it.

Will these work on the new style canopies?

Many thanks for advice and pictures
Here is my mount using RC Booya canopy mounts for Logo 500.
The RC Booya Logo 500 mounts are too large (studs lenght = 13mm), so the rear canopy have a large gap !
So, I think it doesn't fit with my Logo 550 canopy. Maybe this new canopy is narrower than the 550SX model ?

It is difficult to achieve a clear wiring with Logo plastic frame.
(for information, the label UAS-FR-XXXXXX is a registration number, to be in compliance with french regulations)

Get 3/4” magnets from K&J. Way more holding power than Protos or any others I have used. Use them on the bottom. I just space them out with carbon tubing. I get rubber washers and counter sunk screws from RTL Fasteners. I use the washers on the canopy side. You can buy plastic cups from the hardware store. I seem someone posting about them on that Synergy 516 forum. I just use Protos magnets at the top.

Here is my mount using RC Booya canopy mounts for Logo 500.

So, I think it doesn't fit with my Logo 550 canopy. Maybe this new canopy is narrower than the 550SX model ?

The newer style canopy does use different mounting hardware and front landing strut position than the V2 and older model helis. As for wiring, a few thought out holes and opening up areas during assemble of the frames makes things much easier and cleaner.
My original ALeeS Rush 700 canopy was a nightmare to put on, but with MSH magnets on the front and Booya pin mounts on the rear it became one of the easiest canopy's to install. As for the Logo 550 it is reasonably easy to install and remove and it stays on good in flight so there is little to gain in my opinion. We all have our preferences and likes so we can personalize our helis which is part of the hobby. Take care :cheer
