Default 230S & DXe Transmitter Battery warning

OK, over the winter I bought a RTF 230S which came with the Spektrum DXe transmitter. So far it's been working great however I have a question as to whether there is any sort of battery indicator to let me know when the batteries in the transmitter are getting weak and in need of replacement or recharge. Last think I need is for the transmitter to go dead in the middle of a flight. I didn't see anything in the manual about a low battery warning on the DXe.

The DXe does have a very obvious battery warning. The power light turns red and fades brighter and darker, and it beeps.

By default, it is set up for AA batteries. If you install the lipo pack, you NEED to reprogram the DXe to the correct battery type with the software and programming cable in order for the different voltage warning to take effect.
