Default canopy grommets

What are you guys doing about your canopy grommets wearing out very quickly? The center of the grommet splits and then the quick release comes in contact with the canopy directly. This is going to wear out the grommet hole in the canopy.

What i do is when the grommets are new, put just a small amount of CA to fix them to the canopy. This keeps them from being able to move in the holes and prolongs their life.

They are made of a soft material. Check on helilids for replacement black ones they are made from a harder material that doesnt split.

I put a small amount of "Shoe Go" around the OD of the grommet.
Keeps it from moving around as well and stays slightly pliable.
