Hey! I never got in on this poll....

I bought my 230S after reading info here (was only flying my 130S before this and I LOVE my little 130!) and decided the 230 was the best choice for my skills/experience.

Having went from a MCx2 (coaxial) to a 120Sr (flybarred-fixed) the little 130S was a huge leap for me!

I have owned a 450 3D for quite some time, but it wasn't until someone helped me set it up and I bought the 130S did I brave hovering the flybarred 450.

So when I realized it takes skills to fly the bigger birds (and, more money!) I spent $150 for a brand new 230S and bound it to my DX6i and have LOVED it since!

Well, anyone her that saw some of my posts regarding the 230S, know that it IS different than a 130S by alot! After some growing pains and trim flights and calibrations, and a new canopy (just like the one OP and a couple of others here have) and some heavier batteries...

The 230S is now my Fun Heli that I nicknamed Quirky. I have enjoyed it lately and will glad to get it in a fuselage!

The 230S was my first step into collective pitch. I started flying it in stability mode but within a very short time I was flying in idle up 1 and 2 and I quickly learned that flying CP was not nearly as terrifying as I thought it might be. In fact I quickly learned that CP gave me much more precice control and was in many respects easier that the clumsy slow response fixed pitch machines that I had flown previously.

Dude, those are so awesome. I like the uh-1b best. Im tempted to do a scale build this winter. I think i would go with a magnum pi. Douglas 500d. The 230 is a great scale flier, cheap enough to do multiples, and reliable enough to not cause worries.

The UH-1 was most simple to make. And 380g Takeoff Weight with 1500mAh Lipo. Flying calm and smooth. EC135 is awesome, becouse the Fenestron Tail is silent. And MD520 NOTAR ist the most impressive, because the Sound from that Tail was honorable for a Jet.

And Yes, You are right: cheap enough and reliable. They dont fail, more than 200 Flights each.

Do you know what the weight of that heli is? And the weight of a stock 230s? I'm curious on the percentage difference

you know man, I actually weighed before and after. I can't find where I wrote it down now ? It doesn't fly really that heavier if your only doing sport flying. Looks awesome in the air.
