Why would he omit a needed step, like plugging in the box and changing the gov mode? That is not a trivial step that can be assumed.

Me too, this bickering isn’t going to help anyone with a fireball. Therory, and speculation. Some people just like to hear themselves talk.....

Guys we are all speculating. No one here I think knows the definitive answer yet we can talk about it and discuss. Donít understand why you have to get upset about it. I am just explaining my reasoning to my conclusions.

How are we speculating? when both of us are talking from hands on experience. Not from reading and coming up with a conclusion. That is a definite answer. But you seem to ignore the fact that both Tony, and I owned Fireballs. Like you ignored GOM when he told you a G380 canopy wouldn’t fit the Buddy 380. Not upset by any means at all. But done with the conversation, because it’s not productive and isn’t helping anybody

So to clarify,
Prog box is not needed to get fireball up and running
Prog box is needed to change any settings on the esc
Correct?

At a quick glance over the thread it seems the program box is needed (not required) for FBL controllers that do not let you specify throttle endpoints.

This is assuming tonys-heli is correct in the HW requiring a non-governed mode for calibrating endpoints.

What a cluster.

You don’t need it to change the endpoints, RTM. You need it to change or reset the Governor Store, change Gov. mode to use FBL Gov or change the BEC voltage.

But not to change the endpoints. Very standard there, UP stick, beeps, DOWN stick, more beeps, unplug... ESC 101.

I have two of the SAB ESCs and another 80A on my G380. All Gov Store.

That’s all I’ve been saying all along. To reset gov store, so you can redo rpm standardization. You need the program box.
