Default stock servos gotta go

so the stock servos on the 360 cfx 3s I just picked up.....ssssuuuuucccckkkkk. Well atleast the gears in them do. Blade strike = broke gear. Heli tilts and thinks about having a blade strike = broke gear. Its nuts. Horizon should have included 3 sets of replacement gears for these turds.

I'm sure y'all have heard it all before because it seems to be a known thing....so....KST 215's the way to go for a replacement?

KST 215's is a great choice...

I would also recommend the breakaway arms from anythingheli

https://www.anythingheli.com/gear-pr...hitec-kst-rjx/

They will take any maneuver You can throw at them...and break away in a crash...saving Your servo gears most all the time

I have friends who are pro pilots and do things that make Me dizzy...and they run the breakaway arms with no issues at all

KST-215 if it's in your budget. Emax ES09MDII if you need to save some $$$. I'm talking cyclic not tail.

I have not had problems with the servos breaking... I have had some tail wag problems. Those might be sorted though ... was not a servo issue but rather a mechanical tightness issue.

Ordered a couple 215s, thanks guys!

I didn't see any tail wag issue with it yet but knew to keep an eye out for it from what I've read on here. I'll go through it and make sure everything is snugged up. Thanks for that info!

Don't snug it too much - mine was a links were too tight on the ball issue. I had to make a sizing tool out of an old link to make it fit right and be smooth.

Thanks fiddle! I worded my response poorly but I understand what you're saying. I'll go through it this evening and check everything.

Break away arms...learn something new everyday! Seems like an awesome idea! I'll have to give them a shot. Thanks JonJet!!

I have them on my Fusion 270's and they work just great. Several others I know used them on that one too who have put them through more testing (aka crashing) than I have. I've got at least 100 flights on the 270 with them. My second one sits as a backup but it configured the same.

If the H3050 start giving me any troubles (like I've had on other helis) on the 360 I plan on replacing them with some ES09MDII's. They are dirt cheap for a metal gear digital servo. I don't do smack 3D so I don't need super speed or mega torque on them.

KST 215's in mine, not a problem. Don't bother to rebuild the stock servos - the replacement gears are of very inconsistent quality. Waste of time and money.

Have to change anything in the AR636A when you swap from the stock servos to the kst215s?

Frequency for the H3050 shows to be 200hz....kst 215 is 333hz....I know that much just not sure how much it would impact these kst servos if it is set slower.

just going to note that I flew today and didn't see any issues and haven't changed anything in the 636 yet. Got a little bit of a gain issue to work out but nothing major.

I use emax ES09MD on my 270 too.
Didn't need to do any changes regarding FBL settings. They certainly work just as good as stock ones.
About 500 flights on them with 3 mild and 3 heavy crashes and they are still just like new.
And yeah they are dirty cheap, under 10 bucks a piece.

I'm using the ES08MDII (Emax) on my Fusion 270 and like them a lot

Paid less than 20 euro (shipping included) for 4 servos

This is more of a max frequency. On nearly all of my cyclic servos on all my systems, I set to 200hz. Doesn't affect performance one bit. So if the FBL is set to 200, don't sweat it.
