Default 330S whats the difference?

Love my 330X but it seems that the 330S is just a rebranded 330X no? Oh a different canopy to.

The 330S has full SAFE FBL and HH new telemetry ESC ,new Canopy , other than that , I think everything else is the same , A 450 size heli with SAFE is hella cool for someone getting into the hobby , but I love my 330x also and I don’t really need safe on it , but maybe a bailout would save me a crash when I’m trying new stuff ...

ya its bundled with their new smart esc and new fbl. The RTF is also cool because you get the smart battery and charger with it. Really great kit for new intermediate pilots.

I have an underlying suspicion that the 330S may be similar to other models that have been "S'd" before...

Taking away a bit of pure performance to give the SAFE

The nCPX was the first to suffer a demotion from Advanced Class to Intermediate...those classes have since been removed and subsequent models that have been "S'd" also suffered on the performance end

I've watched Bert's video review of the stock 450X...and wondered many times how amazing it would fly if he tuned his fav FBL unit to his liking and repeated the video in a 4S or 6S setup

A full-blown 450X with a stronger setup in the hands of a Master Class Pilot would be insane to watch...but I doubt the camera could capture it's true potential

They simply could have kept the 330X in production and released an “Optional” FBL which includes the SAFE mode. All of that rebranding and releasing of a new model seems too redundant.

Well i think they had a bunch of 330 airframes left in their warehouses and they want to get rid of them, so they put new FBL with safe on them to attract unsuspecting beginers, who won't realize they are buying a 10+ year old and outdated airframe.

Few other models have had so many releases...which really points to the success of the model...

4503D - 450X - 330X - 330S = years and perhaps decades of replacement and interchangeable parts

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets another introduction as a CF Frame and a member of the Fusion lineup

I believe you could...but the price may be a lot more than the FBL units that have much better control options

Will the software update my 330x and turn it into an s for an upgrade fee. By the way the plastic frame is incredibly strong and resiliant

While I agree that the nCPX/s did suffer a bit, overall SAFE is awesome for the target audience. A slight performance edge is worthless if a newbie crashes immediately. My 230s and my newer 150s have really helped my flying even through I have "higher" performance machines.
