Default Rescue pitch?

My 230s main blades are zero degrees at mid stick and I get +-12.5° of symmetrical pitch in iu1 and 2.

The heli hovers at about 75% stick so about 8° pitch.
This seems wrong. I'd expect to hover at about 60% stick.

Rescue applies only 3.5° of positive pitch measured on the bench.
In the air, rescue causes the heli to DECEND, not climb!

This all seems wrong, but I dont know how to fix any of this.

Hover at 75% stick could probably be fixed by changing the pinion (currently a 10t).

Any ideas? The heli was bought used.

The stock pinion will fix this. And of course it will depend of the throttle and pitch curves, at what stick position the Heli will hover.
Rescue will not make the Blade 230S climb much, but should not decent. There is no option to adjust pitch angle for rescue, as far as i know.

How do the Stunt1 and Stunt1 throttle curves (v-curve or fixed) look like? Do you only have something like 60-65% or what?

Good point. If you have a combination of a small pinion and pitch curves that are not standard plus throttle curves not according to the setup that works out of the box, then it will not maintain a hover or a slight climb depending on whether in Stunt 1 or 2. You could find out easily what throttle setting will have the current setup hover and make that your throttle curve for that flight mode. I would still get the stock pinion and refresh the setup with that installed. Take care.

My 230s V1 is completely stock flying on the DXe Tx. It takes off at one tick mark over mid stick and will fly at that setting. Switching up to stunt 1 doesn't make much difference in climb but the higher head speed in stunt 2 does make it climb a bit so it fly's at about 1/2 a tick above mid stick in stunt 2. To be honest I can't say I've even really noticed where the stick is. You could try shortening the servo rods a turn on the threads. This will possibly mean a little less negative pitch but unless your doing full on 3D this won't matter.

Thanks. 12T pinion on order now.

My pitch curve is 0 25 50 75 100 and my throttle is iu1 80, iu2 100.

I've shortened the links by 1 turn and it hovers at 1 tick past half stick, but still descends in rescue.

I can make it climb in rescue by adding pitch. I might mix in a bit of pitch on the rescue switch.

I would not do that ... i'd wait for the proper pinion.

also - i'd make sure to leave the pitch at the standard -12/0/+12 (actually I'm not sure its 12) but if you are shortening links ... aren't you offsetting the 0 pitch?

I agree. Running a 10T pinion is helpfull when a multiblade main rotor is mounted. I run 10T Pinion with fife-blade head. Much more lift at lower headspeed, Throttle is 70 flat, and the heli wont decend in rescue though.
For the stock rotor head/stock blades 12T is fine.

It's all sorted now. The 12t pinion and a reset of all the settings has fixed everything.
