Default Align 300x main shaft movement

My main shaft can be moved up and down about 0.3mm. It probably needs a shim.

Does anyone else's heli have this movement?

According to the manual, there is a collar and a shim surrounding the main gear assembly. Did you check all is in place?

Otherwise, if the shaft has the same diameter as the Trex 250, there are 0.1mm and 0.2mm shims for this one.

The main shaft is 4mm so those shims wont fit.

I need 4 x 5.6 x 0.3 shims. The tail assembly uses 4x5.8x0.3 which might work but I cant find them separately.

The slop equates to about 4 degrees of pitch change. Its completely unflyable until I figure out how to remove it.

Photos 1 and 3 show the gap. 2 and 4 show where it should be.

As they will sit on the inner race of a bearing, the OD of a shim needs to be 5.6mm or less.

I found Align HS1222T which includes a 0.3mm shim that is the right ID/OD, but i'm not sure that the gap is 0.3mm, or 0.2, or 0.4 etc. So I ordered these:

I'm confident they will fit- we'll see....

Well.... After waiting a very long time for the shims to arrive from Hong Kong (I've had a few orders from HongKong recently and they took just a week to arrive, so this seller cheaped-out on the postage cost!), the shims arrived, and the shaft movement has gone.

I required a total of 0.15mm shimming (1x 0.1mm, 1x 0.05mm)

A 0.2mm shim would have been acceptable, but since i had 0.05 and 0.1, I used those to get it exact.

Now its raining heavy and thunderstorms for the rest of the week, so uuugh!

FYI Lynx has just revived their 300X main shaft replacement if you didn't know. Might want to get a few while you can since the stock one is impossible to find.
