Default VBar Utilities App

Last year I wrote an Android app that connected to vstabi and downloaded all the flight logs for analysis.

I had a few requests for an iOS version and now I have one, sort of
It's a WebAssembly app that should work on all browsers that support it.

The best bit is if you create a shortcut\install from the browser, it will allow you to look at the data even if you're offline.

https://vbarutilitiesblazor.azurewebsites.net/

I used Blazor to write it. It's new to me and seems to work quite well, although it updates differently depending on the OS. Let me know if it doesn't work for you.

This is a vid of how it works and installs as a local app.

I tried this out and it worked great for me. Thank you for all the work you put into it and I look forward to see where you will take it.

That's great. We're on version 1.2.41 now.
Just added setups so you can see all your backup settings saved on the cloud, as well as model images.
All of these are still available offline, so you can view the settings at the field.

I don't know much about macrocells. Are they saved to the vstabi cloud? I seem to remember that they weren't backed up, but maybe that's changed.

Version 1.2.42 is out, which includes Devices.

Makrocell setup is saved separately by the user and it will then be available in the cloud. It is always separate to the normal setup for either helicopter or plane.

Thanks. I've not been seeing them because I haven't used macrocells.

I guess the answer is potentially. Parsing the backup file took a lot of work and I imagine parsing the macrocells file is probably even more complex. If there are enough users to make it worthwhile, I could certainly investigate it.

If there are any developers here who feel they could contribute by writing a macrocell file parser, it would be easy enough for me to include it into the app. c# .net standard class library would do it

1.2.49 is up, now with sample data, stability improvements and flight duration in the summary pages. Temporarily removed model images while I figure out a better way of hosting the images on the device.

I wasn't going to pimp this app anymore, but I made some updates that I'm super happy about, specifically battery history, favourites and flight summary.

If you've tried the app before, you might need to clear cache so it gets all the data fresh.

BTW, the first data load will be heavy, but after that it's incremental.

Wow! I really like the updates you've made. Thank you so much for your time and effort on this. I hope others are enjoying it as much as me.

That's great to hear, thanks

You've probably noticed that updates sometimes break the app and you have clear the browser cache (only for the site, not all sites), but hopefully this should be relatively stable now.
Fortunately it's read-only data from vstabi, so you don't lose anything, it just gets all the data again instead of incremental updates.

It turned out better than I could have imagined. I love having it running it on my desktop and phone, so I can see the graphs in detail and still get updates at the field.

I only have a few UK testers, and I have some concerns about internationalisation, so I was wondering where you were in the world.

I need an American and a German to test the app, as I don't know if vstabi cloud formats the dates/numbers differently, and I'm looking for specific text when I grab the battery data. If someone could try it and give me some feedback, I would appreciate it muchly

Yes, I did find that I had to clear the cache, which wasn't a big deal for me. I've also tested on my MacBook Pro using Safari and Firefox without issue. Not sure if you could tell, but I am in the United States and happy to help any way I can.

Perfect, Mikado must keep the date formatting the same.

I've just added duration to the battery history screens. You will need to clear the cache to get it though :-)

How many flights have you got loaded?

I haven't downloaded this app yet but it looks interesting. I'm in the US and the date format is definitely backwards on the Month/Day from what we are used to in the US on my VBCt.

Seems to run very slow on my iPhone and gave up where it cruised fairly quickly loading all my flights on my Mac. Approx 293 pages

We're getting the data from the vstabi cloud, which I think uses a fixed format. What does it look like on vstabi?

First load is slow as it gets all the flight data. My 470 flights takes around 3 minutes from fresh.
It can be stopped midway as it will pick from where it left off and only do incremental updates afterwards.
I have a user with around 1000 flights on iPhone, and once the data is saved locally, the app seems responsive. Is it the app that's slow?

I've put up a bug fix this morning to do with the models page not displaying properly when there are 0 flights.

Guten Tag from Germany!

I logged in from my Macbook pro with no problems at all. But on my mobile (android) it won't load the data completely. I've attached a screenshot of the error. If you have specific questions - just ask, I will try to help.

That's odd, considering it's the same account.
Can you see anything unusual on the vstabi setups page, maybe a blank name/date/controller or strange letters.
It could be download related. Are all the setups available for download?

I just tested the download of both setups. (Yes, only 2)
Both download just fine and I can't see any blank spaces, or strange letters.
I double checked with the online app on my mac. Setups are all there, everything works.
