Default Mounting screw is hitting white plastic thingy on EGO motor

I知 installing an egodrift 3220-900 on an Oxy 4 Max. I知 using the Oxy mounting bolts to secure the motor to the motor mount since they are shorter than the ego-supplied bolts.

But there is a plastic disk on the stationary part of the motor that the screws run into and actually bends a little. My guess is the plastic is there for protection from overly-long screws but I知 not totally sure.

Is this okay if the screws hit the plastic thing?

The ring is there for protection. Touching it is fine.

Plastic discs for the win Protecting the coils from screw ends potentially portruding the mounting holes in the motor base is exactly what we put we put them there for, all good.

Best regards

If there was one recommendation I could make, find some small but heavy duty washers and place them on the screws before re-installing them. Or, shave down the tips of the offending screws so they don't push that protector too far. That plastic disk is a cool idea.
