Great videos and advice! I am new to this hobby and have just installed the 401 Gyro and DS285MG servo's. I have watched the videos and they were a great help, but I want to get them moving in the right direction and range of movement. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me, on the DX6i Reverse menu which should be reversed and what other settings I should check/adjust to get them all moving in the right direction and full movement?

Thanks Sokal, I am close but something is backward according to the response I should be getting according to how I read manual.

When I move the left stick up the swashplate raises, When I move it down the swashplate lowers (according to the manual it should be the opposite).

I tried switching the two connections for pitch and aile to match what you had above but the movement is not as clean (doesn't really move up and down much). I reviewed your videos again and found that they can be set up either way, so I guess I just need to adjust the settings in the transmitter. Would you be kind enough to tell me how those should be set up? I have listed my current configuration and settings below. Thanks, this part has really got me confused.

Here is my setup:
As you look from the back of the heli,
Rear servo with arm on left side - pitch- connected to AUX
Rear servo with arm on right side - aile -connected to ALE
Front servo with arm on left side - ELEV

In the Reverse Menu
all are N
except pitch

and swash mix menu
aile -75%
elev will be - 75%
and pitch shall be +85% (the percentages on these are the originals I have not adjusted yet)

if all is going up when you pushed up and down on the cyclic then all you needto do was rev the elev

since you switched the aile and pitc servo change the R to the aile servo

when you hit up both back servos should go up and down for down

if all goes up when you hit up rev the elev
if swash moves opposit rev all three

work one servo at a time to move in the direction in needs to go

servo arangment

i have my aile servo on the left but that doesnt matter

Hey Sokal, in your Head Setup Vid, you mention that not all radios will be centered as you see it under the Monitor menu. I believe I may have one of those radio for my Throttle as it is way off. When I fly I use about 4-5 clicks on the Trim to off set this...

So I wanted to ask, knowing this, do I put the left stick at 0 when I set up my head? Can something be done to center the throttle? Or is it ok the way it is. Thanks!

make sure you remove all subtrim and trim
and your curve at mid is 50%

now look at the monitor menu and center thing up
all but gyro (ch5)

if its off just move the stick as close as you can may be a hair line from the gimbal marks

Hi,

I found the best way for me to center the sticks to true mid-stick throttle and pitch is to use the throttle or pitch menu. The vertical line in the graph tells you when it is really center (electronically).

The graph in the monitor menu of my rx is a little bit "off", so I do not really use it.

Best,
Frank

Default Thankyou!

Sokal, I was getting discouraged after a couple of crashes on my Blade 400. I haven't received quite the help I would expect from my LHS --- but your videos are awesome. I really like the Alan-Key Swashplate leveller trick - and the way you described it was bang on. I was finally able to hover with confidence today - I still have some tweaking to do. Thanks again!!

Sokal Thanks for the high quality vids. I just downloaded most of them. The site I guess only allows for so many downloads a day. So when I get back from vacation i will get the rest. Thanks again and looking forward to it.

Hi Sokal

I have a question does Eflight have there own web site. I need to get a hold of the
manufacture because, on the feathering shaft there was only one bearing with the two
half cages in the blade holder the one with out the bearing had 6 shims. This is bad
and I don’t think that the LHS is going to do any thing for me. RTF sure! So who
would be the one to contact?

thanks
