Default Whiplash Gasser Tail servo horn

What seems to be the best servo horn for the tail servo these days? There is very minimal clearance under the tail boom to the center of the servo arm, approx 21mm, so the arm needs to be a short one. The build manual calls for the ball to be 14mm from the center. I currently have a plastic arm attached to an MKS HBL880 which has an 8mm shaft. I figure there has to be a better solution than the plastic servo horn. Since its difficult to center my current servo horn, I thought maybe an adjustable might work, but it is difficult to find the correct length. Any suggestions?

I will check when I get home, but I think I used the 14mm hole in the Secraft V1 17mm servo arm.

You could probably also use the Secraft V1 15mm servo arm, because the 14mm spacing results in more servo throw than I get on my other 700 sized helis.

Make sure you get the Servo Arm Remover if you use these servo arms.

Thanks for the reply Frank! Is that Seacraft 15mm V1 servo arm for an 8mm shaft? The website does not specify. I have the MKS HBL880 with the 8mm shaft.

Sorry, but the Secraft servo arms I referenced use the Futaba 25T splines. I am using a MKS HBL990 servo. I see the MKS HBL880 servo is one of the X8 servos, which has different splines. You probably will need to modify your plastic arm.

About the 15mm spacing, I see in the Whiplash Turbine manual they have a comment about the rudder servo that says: "The ball should go into a hole approx 13-15mm from the center of the servo wheel."

I forget exactly what measurement I used, but I guess it would have been close to the 14mm. I started with the Vortex and when I converted to VBar and Neo I had to move it out to the last hole to get the proper throw.
