Default OMP with gen 1 DX8 (telemetry version)

I have a gen 1 Spektrum DX8 and I have ordered an OMP M2. I have not been able to find a definitive answer on whether or not my gen 1 DX8 will be fine to fly it with? Thank you for your help, Ed

you do know you have to get a External Sat. to go with the OMP to bind to a Spek tx right? So as long as you have a rx that will work with the older TX you should be fine, I know a guy whos owned and flown blade 180, 450, Trex 700, and other helicopters with his first Gen DX8 so you should be fine I would think.
You should love that heli I know i do mine.

Thank you for your input, I do have an RX and a Sat to get the binding done.

Since I have two similar threads I though it best to update both.

Update, I decided that is been at least 10+ years since I upgraded any of my air equipment and the technology has changed so much that I decide to take the plunge a get a new TX, I decided on the DX9 as is it built off my older DX8 chassis and shares a near identical switch layout. So the OMP arrived yesterday and the DX9 will be here Tuesday with a newer DSMX satellite RX. I figure the DX9 should be the last radio I will need heading into the future unless things get way out of control!! Is there an OMP sub-category anywhere where all the OMP info can be placed in one area?? Thank you all for your help and I will know doubt be back with questions next week. Ed
