![]() I don't mind the ones with the balun, I just put a little 3M tape on the frame and stick the balun to it, with the yellow active part sticking out away from the frame. Yes the ones without balun are a little easier as you can use a tube of heatshrink shrunk down and stick that to the frame, which lets you get the active part further away from the frame. //Dennis.

![]() There are soda straws that should fit over the baluns and maybe zip to the guide posts of the antenna spreaders. A small expandable braided type cable cover might work as well. A custom kludge seems reasonable from here in REX7land (USA).

And what do the Balums do for you? (Aside from get in the way?) normally they use a Balum to match the transmission line impedance, but I’ve never seen them used on a RC RX like this.

![]() ![]() Yes It is real though as my pictures show but funny nonetheless. So i have a colleague which goes to the US ever so often. I ordered from espritmodel and part of order was rex3 with other items. The address i gave was US address so my coleague would bring it with when he returned. I thought all was well seeing as i had ordered before but shipping address previously was to my country. They just refunded me the portion and notified me that rex3 will not ship to US address. I tried explaining but they they said they cannot ship it to US address no matter what. Baluns are better in my extremely limited understanding but for my applications would irritate me. If someone has removed heatshrink please share picture of balun version i would love to know if the exposed coax tip length still matches non balun version length as they should match 2.4 standard in my mind. |

![]() That’s what threw me off, here’s a REX3-US labeled box... wouldn’t you think it would be intended for the US market?
Just wishful thinking

The R7 is a really small Rx suitable for a back yard flyer like an Oxy2 or OMP. Note how short the antenna is. (Has anyone ever extended one with a coaxial antenna used for the other receivers) The REX3 is identical in size to the R3/RSW but has more EX ports for additional telemetry sensors. The REX3 is available with 3 or 4 antenna options. The first is with 100mm the second is with 200mm (-A20) and 400mm (-A40) I have seen the 200mm antenna offered with and without the Balums (the bulges). The 100mm don’t have Balums and all the 400mm have Balums. As far as I can tell any REX 3 that end in A20/A40 have the Balums. Without the extension you might be getting a 100 or 200mm without the Balums. (Correct me if I’m wrong) I’d like to make a plea to for the REX 3 to be certified in the US!
