Yes. It is based on Android, so the "factory default" is the same as for an Android tablet.
You could probably find a video on YouTube about resetting an Android tablet or phone and erasing all personal data.

Basically:
Quote:
Go to Android Settings (pull down from the top of the display, expand the drop down by pulling it down if necessary, select the Gear icon).
Scroll down to the "Personal" section and then choose "Backup & Reset".
Choose "Factory Data Reset" and then wait. It might take it a few minutes to erase everything.
Now, it is back to the factory default.
If all you are trying to do is sell it, you should be done.

Well, after you wipe it, you will have to join your WiFi network and then add your Google Play account info so you can start updating the Android system. I'd do this while the USB / charger is plugged in - don't plug it into a PC yet - just a USB charger.

I would not install the AirWare app until you have let the tablet update itself over a couple of hours (days?). Then search for Airware in the Google Play store and download it.

If you are the 2nd owner - MAKE SURE(!!!!) the original owner has de-registered the transmitter under their name. If it is registered under their name and you try to register it under your name, it will fail and you will not get any updates to AirWare.
The AirWare for the iX will let you "automatically" register with Spektrumrc.com. After you get AirWare from Google Play, AirWare will ask for your Spektrum account info and then register (as long as it is on WiFi).
You don't get alerts that a new version of AirWare is available unless you check the Google Play app on the iX periodically.

Also, I would highly recommend NOT installing any apps (cool or otherwise) on the iX12. None. Nada. No Buano.
It is low performance hardware running a version of Android that is more than 6 years old. Anything you add to it will make it slower and less stable. When it comes time to transfer files on or off the transmitter, hook the USB cable to a PC and use the PC's File Explorer to drag them off and on.
Resist the temptation to add personal pictures of your models. It can add minutes to model changes

(How much did you pay for it?)

Good luck.
You may want to get a MaxxPack 10,200mAh LiIon transmitter pack.
The Spektrum iX12 6,000mAh pack seems to go flat quicker than I expected.
At least, you'd have 2 transmitter packs for a full day of flying.

My DX9 with a 4000mAh LiPo runs for 30 or 40 hours between charges. But, don't expect more than about 3 to 4 hours for the iX12 and the 6,000mAh pack.

so disappointing when seller say, transmitter is perfect condition and nothing wrong with it!

I got radio and hold button was loose (ok no big deal to fix it), than biggest issues, something loosing inside the case and left gimball is not working right!

I ended to send it back, went to rc shop and buy new ix12 lol

done trying buying second hand!!!
