Default HELI-X V9.1 with VBarControl Touch

Version 9.1 is out:

You can use the VBarControl Touch via WLAN as controller for HELI-X:

Absolutely brilliant, I love it.
It uses the Touch's gimble calibration and switch assignments. No configuration required. Amazing work.

Kudos to Mikado and Heli-X for their collaborative effort to make this happen. It works flawlessly.

I have not seen complete step-by-step instructions, so here it goes:

1) Update VBC Touch radio (Transmitter Setup >> App Updater). Let the automatic "Checking File Integrity" process complete, and then press "Start Update". Let Update finish.

2) Install and activate the "Sim via Wifi" app. (Transmitter Setup >> Shop >> System)

3) Update Heli-X to version 9.1+, and restart Heli-X

4) Activate VBC Touch (IP) on Heli-X. (Configuration >> Global Settings >> Input System >> check the box). Then you have to restart Heli-X

5) Activate "Send UDP Control" on VBC Touch (Techtalk >> IP UDP Simulator >> check "Send UPD Control" box). This last step has to be performed every time you want to connect the VBC Touch wirelessly to Heli-X via Wifi, unless you also check the "Startup/Start at Switch On" box.

6) To end the wireless connection session, press "End Session" on the VBC Touch radio

What do the "Startup/Start at Switch On" and "Reactivate/after other WiFi Activities" functions do?

*************EDIT********************

Answer from Mikado:

If you select Startup at Switch On, the feature will be automatically enabled when you switch on your radio, else you have to enable it manually if you want to sim.

Other internet traffic (e.g. Cloud access in the background) will suspend UDP control, so it does not interfere.
If you enable here, UDP control will be enabled again automatically thereafter.

I've enabled all of them and it works really well. Turn the radio on and start the sim, and it connects straight away.

One thing I've noticed, if I take a screenshot on the Touch, it disconnects from the sim, uploads the file to VStabi, and then reconnects. Not really an issue, as there's not much to screenshot, just an observation.

I too noticed the screen shot disconnection issue. It seems to resolve by checking the 3rd box (Reactivate/after other WiFi Activities).

Default Solved

I figured out the solution. I needed to go to transmitter settings;
Uncheck the cloud service,
Uncheck the online service.

Now I can sim without interruptions.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Dumb question -- Is via WIFI the only way, or can you use a USB cable as well with Heli-X?

Just returning to the hobby after 10+ year break. Considering a VbarControl Touch, but would hate if I can't use it with Heli-X

The WiFi connection with the VBCT radio is just the latest feature. Any standard USB transmitter (Real Flight InterLink controller, Spektrum DX InterLink controller, eBay/Bangood USB controllers, etc), direct USB connection to a few transmitters (VBar Control, Jeti, etc), or standard USB adapters for just about any radio should work as well.

With the VBC and VBCt you can use directly a USB connection with HELI-X, similar to e.g. the Jeti transmitters. For "older" ones, you need an suitable USB interface,
