Question Goblin 700 Sport + YGE 205A

Thinking about a Goblin 700 Sport (https://www.amainhobbies.com/sab-gob...bsg718/p702418). How much room in the ESC tray? The manual doesn't seem to give dimensions and I can't seem to find them on the web anywhere. Was going to use a YGE 205A (84mm x 55mm x 33mm). Will it fit in the ESC plate area? Didn't find anyone in the build thread using this ESC on the Goblin 700 Sport.

Hello,

The larger (106.0x50.0x34.0mm) hobbywing HV 160A is easy to mount.

https://www.hobbywing.com/goods.php?id=422

On the Sport the space for ESC is large it is that of the lipo which can pose problem.

50mm wide (HW 160) vs 55mm wide (YGE 205) though ... is it wide enough to accommodate a 55mm wide ESC?

I think the YGE will fit fine , you probabbly would have to do without the front Frame Spacer ( H0003-S ) , I didn't use it with my original G700 with HW 160 A

per manual : Battery compartment: 60x58x350mm

if it can take battery pack with 58 mm so , 55mm esc should be fine

I can confirm the width of the ESC compartment is 58mm. This is a pic demonstrating how well the 53mm wide Kontronik ESC fits. 55mm wide should be fine. In fact, it better be, as I too plan to install a YGE 205 ESC in it next.

I replaced the Kosmik 200 with a YGE 205. The YGE 205 is a bit wider, but a bit shorter than the Kosmik 200. I consider the YGE 205 a better fit overall compared to the Kosmik 200. Still, due to the front brace which interferes with the wires, I pushed the ESC aft, which meant I had to fasten the front skid strut to the rear hole (manual calls for front hole). I also ground the strut a bit to give the ESC more clearance.

Why not just get the 135A? Many fly with a HW130 and 700s. Unless you are really smacking it around it shouldn't be any kind of problem. I plan to switchover one of mine soon.

The YGE 135 is not 14S capable.

Not sure anyone said it was. Not sure where 14S came into the conversation at all. But, if you never plan to go 14S, why is that a negative?

you can use 135a ESC on 700? I always heard you needed at least 160a for 700. Shoot ... 135a ESC are cheaper YGE Aureus 135A HVT is nearly $100 cheaper than the 205A.

Okay, good to know. I was responding to the OP's questions, however.

You absolutely can. Have seen several say that they do on RCHO and I flew my first 700 on a HW130A. One guy on my Egodrift team flies the Aureus 135 with his 700s and he flies way more technical and speed than I may ever fly. I think he plans to put it on a RAW setup if I remember right. I'm going to put it on one of my 700s, just not sure which yet.
