Question Healthy IR for Align 250-300 mAh 2s??

Hi folks! Trying to rank lipos used with my Trex 150x,

I've got a few of these guys (new) mixed in with older lipos that came with the heli second hand. All are either 250 mAh or 300 mAh Aligns.

It seems I didn't mark them or date them.

What are you guys seeing for IRs on the "good" Aligns. My iCharger is seeing a wide range of IRs from 92-123 per each cell at full charge. Both cells in each of the lipo's are close however in IR and voltages.

Right now, my process for ranking the lipos is to fully charge them and hover for 2:30 seconds, check if the battery is warm to hot, and check milliamps remaining, followed by a storage charge. That info with the fully charged IR will determine my ranking for future use.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hey!

I had 65-70 for 300mah version (measured using gt500 charger) when batts were new. Regarding flying time and flying experience... I'm not 3d expert.. so I'm flying 3m30s. In the first 2 minutes heli feels overpowerful, but then in the last 1m30s it becomes pretty stable, without a lot of extra power, but really feels like big brothers)

PS: regarding temperature, after fly batteries a little bit warm, but I'm not worried about that too much.

Good luck Maks.

Thumbs up

I charged all Align lipos (250 and 300 mAh) to 50% charge and let them sit overnight.

Using standing voltage drop off, some maintained 45-49% while some others dropped to as low as 40% in 24 hours.

I realize that IR varies from charger-to-charger so that is tough to call for the smaller lipos.

Between voltage drop off and remaining mAh following a timed 2:30 minute hover flight, I think that will suffice for ranking them well for me to use.

Over-thinking?

Personally I'd just fly them until the point that you notice an unacceptable loss of performance, or they puff up or don't charge properly.
