I just bend a piece of metal into a 'Z' shape and wire tie it to the main shaft. It has proven to be universal so I can use the same one from model to model of the same size. They can also be made shallow enough so you don't need to remove the head. I suppose a bracket ( [ ) shape would work too.

With that said, I don't fully install the head on a new build until the swash is level.

I have this swash tool, issue I noted that if you use that as your level and your zero geometrically the arms are actually (low). If you go by manual as to the servos to swash lengths the arms are in fact 90, so that to me is "odd"

Probably due to differences in servos. Stock lengths have been perfect for me over 2 Krakens and a Raw using XPert servos.

I run MKS X8s.

What I am saying though, servos aside, length aside the SAB swash level device with the swash resting on it, the follower arms are actually (low), not 90. I was speaking to that.

Just checked and both my Kraken and Raw have perfectly level followers using the SAB leveler.

It doesn't surprise me you are running X8's. They are slightly non-standard so you might have to adjust the servo to swash links.

That would imply the X8 output shaft is higher than a standard servo. I can't find my calipers or dimensions online at the moment - I'm going to have to check this because I have X8's on another model. Hmmm.

Hmm I will re look at this, now curious I could have sworn the follower arms were actually on the low side of being geometrically correct.

I have Xpert servos and use the swash level tool for mid stick, I have zero deg on blade grips, but I am getting two deg more positive that negative.

Fairly typical problem. Get it the best you can, then adjust the pitch range in your FBL controller.

That’s what I do, I thought you had even travel on both negative and positive.

All things being equal: same length linkage, servo arms at perfect 90deg without any digital adjustments, you would get equal collective movement.

However this isn't the case, and we always have to adjust the servos a little which affects equal collective. It's simple to just make the adjustment digitally which with a good clean setup, won't be much.

For those new to the leveler, be very careful to avoid moving the swashplate lower then center. It will jam up your servos.

A nice feature of the XPert's is they have overload protection. They seem to simply ignore the command entirely.

Same issue with KST servos on my and my friends raw.
It is impossible to solve it mechanically.
I've adjusted collective travel in Vbar neo "coll throw" menu.

In the 20 or so systems I have built, only once are twice has pitch been equal +/- or really close. But, this is why our FBL has features to even us out.

Any head that looks like this will have the issue:

This is because when the links are not perpendicular to the grip arms. As a result, equal movement of the swash up/down will result in a different angle at the blades. As mentioned by the others, the solution is usually to adjust the overall travel of the swash so that it’s equal in both directions.

There’s other options but it means compensating with how the swash is setup. (Not common either...)

^^ welp, that's every model I have except the flybarred one

I had a difference in +/- pitch on one model. I fixed it mechanically by adjusting the swash links as a team until it was solved.

Even my Protos with the included leveler, I had to re-level the old fashioned way to counter drift. I like to level the swash at high and low pitch as well so my little "Z" tool is perfect for that. Can't justify the cost or space of those fancy levelers.

Goblin RAW on maiden day. 1850rpm flight.
Definite improvement over the kraken in flight characteristics.

SAB Goblin RAW 700 Maiden 1850rpm (5 min 3 sec)

For those who are afraid of visibility the above pic from the video has made me think of something that has not been discussed, the color of the battery

If you colored the frame pieces that surround the battery, then you'd add something.

Interesting, what style did you end up with? 40 is lowest I ever heard of anyone messing with lol. Makes me think gotta try for giggles, lowest any heli I have really settled on was 88 actually.

Also noticed your comment on blades from UT to Azure, did not like the 700 ultimates?

Nice flying otherwise, has good grab for 1850 rpm.
