Default Vbar Gov overshoot and long spoolup

Hello, I am having this issue with 2 electric models. Both are using the Hobbywing 200 ESC and Vbar neo with the vbar gov. I have set the ESC to linear throttle and left all the other parameters to the default. During the initial spoolup it can take about 30 seconds and the rpm overshoots by 400 rpm. it will then decrease to the proper rpm. I have tried a few setting changes but nothing seems to help. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Even when using the governor sometimes you need to adjust the basic throttle and collective add values.

Make sure you have the latest firmware for the Hobbywing 200 ESC. Then update bothe your Neo and VBCt.

The ESC does the initial spool up and then the Neo will take over to govern the rpm. If the initial spool up of the ESC is too slow or too fast, the Neo governor cannot complete the start up successfully. You will need to adjust the spool up time on the ESC to be less and maybe set the Neo spool up time to be longer.

Do you have Pro firmware on the Neo? Can you post a log from the Neo please?

These instructions (in particular the guide for the governor tuning in your case):

will have the helicopter performing best in my experience. Sometimes you still need to mess with tail.

Guys I don’t want to start a war. But what I have found is with hobbywing and vbar’s there is a lot more tuning messing with tail kicks gov, hand off ect. The problems can be tuned out but you still have to take the time and do it. I don’t know about you but I hate chasing my tail in a circle. I switched all of my ESC over to scorpion. Scorpion seems to just integrate with vbar much better. It’s as if scorpion tuned their ESC for mikado vbar. It’s a Perfect Integration. Also don’t be afraid of using the ESC’s internal governor. Yes I know the vbar gov is proactive but the esc gov is faster. Just try it and decide for yourself!

Similar results with YGE for me.
