I wish the tail on my Oxy 4 was as god as my Oxy 2.. My oxy 2 is the best micro sized heli i have ever had/set up/flown. I was very very late to the trex 250 crowd but did have one for a little while, tail was never solid on it.

the blade 180s, my last one with a stretched boom was the best one but just this Oxy 2 flys so great its my fav heli right now. I hope the Oxy 4 will become a fav soon if i get all the bugs out of it, the esc giving issues then tail issues. i did stretch the boom and put the other pulley on it. it still flys nice, just a couple of bugs to work out, have a small tail wag that wont go away, at least the tail is holding in backwards flight now.
oxy 2 at 4600 and 5000 flys great

oxy 4 at 2700 and 3205 love the lower headspeed of it, i can do everything i like to do at the 2700 on 3s

i'm running a spektrum 3060, there's a wear mark on my tail rod from rubbing. It's definitely not a silky smooth tail when rubbing on the guide.

Lynx 1611 5500kv,
Lynx Servo DS-895-HV Aluminum CNC Case on cyclic
H3060 on the tail.

Vbar Neo (6.3 firmware)

Settings
3 banks: 65%, 75% and 85% (from circa 5500 RPM - 6500 RPM)

I've tried a lot of settings on the VControl Gyro (inc advanced / expert)
I have P gain up to maximum of 120 and I gain close behind at 80 or so.
I have messed with most of the other gyro settings including D gain (up to 10), A and B stop etc but to no avail. I cant find anything specific re the latest 6.3 vbar settings so am unsure how to best tune it (Mr Mel stuff is up to v 5.1 I believe so largely out dated).

Mostly what I am getting is a wag on pitch pumps. If my I gain is too high, I also get nasty judders but always, always, a slight wag (about 30 degrees to the right at any headspeed). I read here that most folks running similar electronics require no additional settings so this is very frustrating.

Is this an issue with the 215.

Can you please advise / help with my setup possibly? I have ordered some larger tail blades (KBDD 45mm) which I will try but surely Lynx would never release a product requiring such extreme measures to get flying properly...?
Did you ever get your tail kick sorted out? Sounds like you need to add some pre-comp to your tail.

I recently upgraded by plastic tail slider to the metal one. Wow, what an improvement! Too much slop in the plastic one. An essential update IMHO

i dont' have this heli any longer, but after another try with spirit on my xlpower, i realized i just don't like or know how to tune spirit tails.

while on spirit, the tail on the xl520 was behaving similar to my oxy 2. I've switched to a brain fbl and all my issues went away.

i'm wondering now if i would've had a better time with my oxy2 if i had just started with a brain instead of a spirit.

I don't think you're the only person who's struggled to get their head around Spirit tuning:

http://spirit-system.com/phpBB3/view...hp?f=21&t=4277

I really do need to get my hands on one to try them out for myself though, certainly a lot of very interesting features bakes into their FBLs these days.

It's funny - if you read enough posts you'll find someone with everything that doesn't work.

I think that you hit the nail on the head though - there was a post the gets re-posted repeatedly about the best way to set up a Brain tail (and seems to work very well). However it's not the same for a Spirit, but the Brain approach seems to have become the de facto FBL tail set-up approach for many and when they apply it to the Spirit it's not effective.

Yeah, Spirit seems to take a very different approach. But they also have excellent documentation, including tuning tips, which I very much like.

Tried the Sab 280 tail blades and tail is solid. Just land perfectly or tail will scrape.
