Edited a video for synching JR 2K "Gamer Changer" Cyclic Servos yesterday.

Spent all day today working under the hood on the '40 Fordor-almost finished mechanically and then it will be ready for paint!

Default What are you working on today?

Lots of issues came up for me this past weekend.

• My iCharger X8 crapped out while at the field. Still under warranty I believe, ProgressiveRC is handling it.

• XLP 550 developed a sticky OWB after only 10 flights on the new OWB I installed. This one is my fault I think for not lubing it. I think I’m a fan of white lithium grease.

• KST tail servo on the XLP 550 crapped out on me for no reason while on the bench. One minute I was adjusting end points and the next it’s acting erratically. Not sure how many flights, but for sure less than 100. Probably 50. Need to find out which retailer I bought it from. Ugh. (UPDATE: Actually it looks like an FBL integration bug that send my maximum negative end point to some silly number. The servo is okay. )

• Specter developed some tail wag while in flight. Looks to be just a sticky tail shaft. I don’t live mine, so maybe my fault. Cleaned it up and it seems fine. Gonna dry lube it.

• Specter won’t govern well even at 70% ESC governed throttle when near the end of the flight pack. Not sure if it’s the battery, ESC, motor, or gearing. Something to keep me busy for the next day or so looking at logs and such.

On the bright side, I had zero crashes and tons of autos including some ridiculously slow floaters thanks to the 10 MPH winds. Fun stuff.

Got to go flying today-worked on tuning PID's!

Eight flights on the old, old Trex 450 SE V2 with the Tarot head and the JR TAGS-Mini FBL unit.

I am working on tuning this one to be very smooth, graceful, and stable in Idle Up 1 (lower rates, slightly lower RPM, Increased I and D gain, lower P gain) and it is working nicely. I also toned down Idle Up 2 quite a bit, as it was way too quick for an old guy.

Four tuning flights on the Tarot 550-this one required much more of a gain reduction after synchronizing the servos. It is super stable in Normal Mode and Idle Up 1, very nimble yet stable in Idle Up 2.

I think I can still get more out of these models as I get better with the P,I , D's.

Good luck on the Maiden! Just started mine, glued the airframe. I wish my hands weren’t so shaky!

Changing to RT 71mm tails on my X3L belt. Still need to sort out reduced ground clearance from the longer blades. Temporarily put big skid nuts on back of skids only, raised the tail up enough for a few test flights. If I'm happy, I'll do something more polished.

Rebuilding XK K110. Apparently if you really try hard, you can break things. Killed a servo, so while I was at it, went ahead and replaced feathering shaft, main shaft, main gear and beat-up rotor head.

Ordering lipos for new to me Logo 480XXtreme. Tried it on HRB 6S 4000's from my XLP550. They fit, but bigger than ideal, and I don't need 8 minute flights, so ordering a couple of 6S 3300.

Going to find the source of this vibration spike on the Specter. Narrowed it down to the tail pulley... I hope!

Replacing bearings in Lynx EOX 2222 3s/4s motor. The batteries in my micrometer are dead, anyone have an idea what replacement size is?

Currently with customer service trying to get my laptop working....
But then!
Double check esc settings on my
Kraken 580
And
Adjust the pitch curves and throttle curves on my Trex 550x
And
set up the rescue/bail out on both fc6250 heli’s
Then go fly.
My plan is to finish, test, and fly by lunch.... it’s 9:15am 🤞🏼
And
maybe start figuring out how to setup a buddy box once I’m back from the field
