Default Touch screen not working properly...

Today my VBar Control Touch screen stopped working as it should. If I open a menu item, I'm unable to back out of that area and have to turn off the transmitter. On a couple of occasions I had a hard time turning the transmitter off. I was able to try an update and the version I end up with is 1.1.402

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I did do a quick search but came up empty...

Thanks.

Jay.

The latest firmware version is 1.1.404 Your VBCt has a file corruption due to botched update over WiFi.

To rectify you wil need to do the following, this is from VStabi Forum.

We have to force the update with USB in a special way:

- turn VBCt on
- turn off FULLY (press button >30s)
- connect to USB, run Manager tool
- press button while keeping left stick bottom right
- Manager will turn on, VBCt stays dark
- Update goes through USB now
- turn on normally, check, post version.

Thanks for the reply. I would have posted this on the vstabi forum but for some reason I'm unable to sign in there. The last time I tried I had a hard time getting back into my account and figured I would not try that again.
I tried the steps you posted from vstabi and each time I tried the device was disconnected from the control manager. And now I am unable to turn on the transmitter...

I've been at this for a few hours now. Time to let it rest until tomorrow.

Why don't you ask your questions on the vstabi.com forum?

The forum mods work for Vstabi and will provide you with a superior solution to your issue.

Again, they are experts on their radio systems, and their help is superior.

Thanks Mike. As I mentioned above, I am unable to log in to the Vstabi forum for some reason. I ask to reset my password, which they do and then when I try to log in with the new password, it doesn’t work. Also tried searching their forum for the answer but every other post is in German and that gets a bit tedious.

When exacty does the VBCt disconnects? It will stay dark until the rebuild is complete. You will only hear the PC connect to USB when you switch on the VBCt with left stick in bottom right corner.

I don't actually hear the Mac connect to the VBCt. I open the manager and see it on the screen connect and then begin the update. I can then see on the laptop screen via the VBar Control manager that the device disconnects.

I will try again here in a bit when I have some free time. I will post back any findings.

I've opened an RMA with Mikado and am waiting to hear back from them.

Thanks again for your help and interest!

You can also call or email Mikado USA (assuming you are in the USA) https://shop.mikadousa.com/crm.asp?action=contactus You'd hear back from one of the two guys who do their support. They are very helpful. Ronald Thomas Jr might even schedule a time to talk to you as long as need be to get you going.

Great! Thanks for the info.. I've created a new account on Vstabi forum and am waiting for it to be verified. I will try my luck there but may also try and contact Mikado USA as you suggested. I'm in Canada but have received support from them in the past.

I tried again last night and the manager won't turn on automatically when I connect the tx. I am able to turn the manager on, connect the tx and the manager runs but the tx repeatedly gets disconnected before the update is complete. There is no response from the manager when I move the left stick bottom right and turn the tx on. The manager screen stays empty and does not connect.

The tx still doesn't turn on.

Thanks for the replies! I'm thinking this tx needs to be sent away for a service tech to have a look at.

The issue is now resolved. Rainer suggested instead of using my MacBook Pro and the VBar Control manager to do the update, use a PC instead. After downloading the manager on the Windows side of my Pro using Parallels, the transmitter updated to the current version and then turned on. Awesome!

Good to hear, I follow these sort of topics in case mine does any weirdness. Kind of like a guide book.
