Any Gigas owners here?
I've had Hirobo's in the past, Shuttle ZXX, RG, and a SDX. I've been thinking about revisiting Hirobo with the Gigas 550e and building it as 600 right off the bat with the all metal SL-ll rotor head. Here's the thing, that airframe would probably cost me double of what my excellent flying Logo 600 cost. Is the Gigas worth the price of admission??

No, but I would like to get a Shuttle Plus 2+ FBL. They are currently done with production but waiting on the Scorpion motors. (supplier issue).
The Gigas looks really sweet. HIROBO has a video of one flying on their YT channel. Are you going for it? |

I'm not sure if I even want to stay in this hobby at this point. If I do I will consider the gigas. Truthfully probably flies as well as my logo 600. There's just something about that heli that intrigues me.
Edit: I just looked at Hirobo's website and the Gigas 600 70th anniversary edition is in production.

Yeah I saw that too. I watched the video of the Gigas flying next to some Cherry Blossom trees, looked really nice.
I was looking at the 70th Anniversary of the Shuttle, but the only difference is the canopy, the short headblock and vertical/horizonal carbon fins. The difference is around $250USD. Not sure if that is worth it, plus I like the "traditional" looking canopy better. All of these helis are so expensive. Is that why you are debating? I have been out of it since around 2010 and wanted to try the Shuttle. I really can't get into these Chinese off brand stuff or these goofy looking machines called SAB |

Yep, Hirobo helis and parts are pricey and parts aren't around the corner. Something to consider especially if it's your only heli. I had two Shuttles, a ZXX and a RG. The ZXX was the first helicopter I did 3D with. But I would bend the feathering shaft in flight. The RG was too Heavy. My SDX was a great helicopter and reliable. However I don't care the way those helicopters have been retrofit for electric. The Gigas seems to be a new frame design while using a SDX head, swash, and tail rotor assembly. I guess the best way to sum the reason for Hirobo is going to a car show full of 2021 Camaros and Mustangs and showing up with a 70 Cuda. It's something different.

I totally get that. The older and older I get, the more I am like my parents
.....no doubt that the Shuttle is an old, crude, archaic design.......even looks old with the 70th anniversary "jazz". I grew up in the Concept, Shuttle, Enforcer era...I just can't get into this Chinese stuff hence the reason trying something that is brand new, yet old school. After your last post, I took a look at the Gigas again. That is one sweeet machine equipped with those Al. grips. I took at look at Midland and they have the Gigas in stock for $1,238USD. The 70th is out of stock and around $1,375. I was seriously considering Quest as well, but concerned over cost, parts and where the hobby is going in general. Have you ever flown a Quest? |

Well I did end up getting one. Ordered it from RC Japan. Came pretty quick. Got a few upgrade parts along with it. I'm going to set it up the same way my Logo 600 is, 2200 RPM head speed on 12S 3300mah along with a Futaba CGY-760.

Dude, she looks really cherry. Very nice. You should do some build comments/pictures of it. I wanted to get a Shuttle but they just can't seem to get them back in stock because of the Scorpion motor supply issue. I ended up getting an Align 450LP. Been loving it so far but still want a Hirobo one day. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks. I did a little building this morning. I'm not the fastest builder, I do build right (I hope).

Well today I took my Logo 600 to the field and my son came along. My son is a amazing 3D flyer. He got out of the hobby 4 years ago when he became a over the road truck driver. He recently quit trucking and I don't blame him one bit. I spend 5 weeks on the road with him. It's a hard life. He flew my Logo and said he would like to get one. So when I got home I pulled the Xnova 4030 motor, Hobbywing 130ESC, MKS HBL 950/980 servo's, and rotortech blades. I'll be using that stuff for the Gigas. I order a Futaba T16IZ radio and CGY-760R FBL also for the Gigas. So what happened to the Logo?I gave the airframe along with a iKon2, and a Futaba T8FG radio to my son.

I maiden the Gigas today Still got to do a bit of tuning on CGY-760 FBL controller. I'm running it with 12S 3300mah batteries, 4030 470kv motor, 130 Hobbywing ESC, and MKS 950/980 servo's.
