Default HW Plat Pro V4 ESC, IKON 2 and Futaba 32MZ telemetry

After coming back to the hobby after a few year break, and despite finding that everyone seems to be flying either Spektrum or V-Control radios, to easily migrate my many models and receivers from my 14MZ, I bought a 32MZ. Love the radio but hell if I can find anyone that knows how to make telemetry work with some of the new heli's I've built since I got back.

So here my first question:

I've got a Kraken 580 electric with an HW 130 Plat Pro HV V4 ESC, and IKON 2 (new to this FBL - but seems to work great) and a R7108SB SBus2 Rx in it. Recently took a CGY760r out of this bird to put in my new Raw and getting any telemetry out of the HW is becoming a real PITA.

I have Rx and Ext voltage being sent to the 32MZ no problem (through the 7108) - but getting RPM and governing in general to work or current draw so I can limit my flight time based on used milliamps is seemingly impossible.

I have installed the latest firmware on everything other than the HW which is showing a 4.08 VBar as the firmware. Not sure if this is the problem or not.

I've got a signal wire connected from the HW 130A Plat Pro HV V4 ESC's programing port to the IKON 2's 4-5-6 port.

I've setup the 32MZ to use the new Hobbywing ESC telemetry option in slot 16 but am still using the CUR1678 setting in slot 24.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as hell if I can find anyone else flying Futaba at my clubs!

Mike

The Vbar firmware only works with the Vbat system. See my thread starter.

There are two versions of the Hobbywing firmware, a standard version and one for use with Vbar.

What does this mean:
If you have a Vbar, then use the version of the Hobbywing firmware with -Vbar- in its description.
If you do not have a Vbar, then do not use a firmware with -Vbar- in its description.

The -Vbar- version is intended for use only with Vbar and will break the telemetry for any other FBL.

Sticky?
If you’re still having issues after that, then go through the Ikon/Brain telemetry manual. It’s pretty good.
