Heck yeah it would. Both an e and nitro 580 raw would kill it.

Please no, I’d have to buy a 580 Raw as well and the Buddy should have been Raw with the 280 servo mounts…

It certainly helps with the statistics if you class a new paint scheme and some stuck on toy missiles as a 'new model'

Touche.

But they are marketing this as a “true” 800. If that is the case we will see how much of it is actually new new.

The standard Urukay is a 770 so the strech only needs to be about 30mm. looking at the pics I think they may have done this just by extending the side plates of the tail box, leaving the boom 'as-is'. So the only parts required would be:
  1. Longer tail box side plates
  2. Longer belt
  3. Longer pushrod

Looks like the main shaft might have also been made slightly longer to give more boom and tail blade clearance. Again a very simple change to make.

Stretching it (pun intended) to call it a new model.

There are hundreds of forest fires around me at the moment, at times it can be quite smokey. This video seems to indicate I need a Maverick 800.

I enjoy the stories and themes behind their models. Its unique and interesting. It seems like they really are just having a great time over there at SAB.

Never thought the company who's blades I always liked 20 years ago would be at this stage of evolution, its awesome.

I know right. Can't beleive all these governments are letting SAB sell us new helicopters already equipped with missiles. Does the new Maverick come with a machine gun?

It's funny that a missile that we have or used to have in the US arsenal was called a Maverick. Maybe they've seen the previews of the new Top Gun movie and somebody came in the next morning and said, "I've got a great idea for the name"

First I've watched the video. Had me laughing actually. If the idea was to look something like a military helicopter, wow, did someone NOT do any research on that subject. Now I feel even more so that they must be desperate for ideas.

It sort of looks like this old one (Bell AH-1 Cobra):

I think the idea is a 'fantasy' military heli.. similar to the idea of their fixed wing Havok and Drake turbine jets, which also dont looks anything like a 'real' jet fighter:

Also bear in mind that the heli is a Urukay with a mild stretch and a new paint scheme, so there are limits to how 'scale' it's going to look

It looks like it's supposed to be a drone attack helicopter, says ROBODRONE right there. It looks neat, not a fan of the color though. Too colorful to be a military drone. They should sell a kit with a blank canopy and tail so we could paint it any color we like. Just include decals in the kit for the intakes etc.

ROBODRONE is 'family name' for all of SAB's fantasy fighter series. It's already used on all their fixed wing models.

For example: https://sabitaly.it/en/products/k175-drake

PS 'TheKingfisher'.. Have you still got that vast collection of unbuilt heli kits? Get any of them built yet?

You thinking of adding the Maverick to the kit collection?
