I'm going to use them on the cyclic for my SJM-180. I'll let you know how I like them as a servo, but don't plan to put one on the tail.

I just put this on mine and all I can say is WOW! This is the most locked in my 200 has felt yet. Im using it with 401 and everything else is pretty much stock minus the Align battery tray up front to mount my batts and receiver to.
I also did the DIY cf tail pitch rod. This servos horns wont fit the tiny screw of the Gauis ball, the holes are too big, so I put a Align 450 ball end and ball on the servo end and used the stock Gaui setup on the other end of the cf rod. I used the stock Gaui wire and slid it thru a piece of cf tubing and then pinched it between the two ball ends.
I have used a Futaba 3154 (Fried), and a Spectrun DSP75 (worst setup yet), but now with the JR DS280g this thing finally feels locked in. Its without a doubt the fastest servo I have used yet and seems to center better. I just wish I could use them on cyclic.
Please, anyone let me know if you like this servo as much as I do on this thing. I can see myself flying this little guy alot more now.

It's a really fast servo, I think you will like it. I'm using them on the Gauis, and a Mini Titan

well...i threw on this servo...and the tail still sucks. i had such high hopes. im gonna try a few more things with component placement-for possible tail surges/funkeyness. ill also try new horn lengths/locations. if all else fails ill sell this. im not up for trying to figure out the tail any more. ive tried everything almost. im ready to stomp on it.
ill let you know

ooop just kidding....i tried it out with a much longer servo horn and it seemed reallll good. it was dark...but ill try it hard tomorrow. im pumped seemed really locked finally.
the key is a long servo horn- it eleminated drifting/wackyness i had.

How bout the JR DS287MG?

It's only 4 oz, the DS290G is 25 oz.

Has anyone tried it?

yeah...flew it today in the wind.
really locked in. Tail needs alot of expo and to be slowed down. im at 35% expo now. Im gonna limit the end points to slow the tail down a bit. im very very very impressed now. truly made my week with how the tails holding now.
when i get back to school ill throw on my weight mod, i suspect this will finish off this ultimate combo.

all in all...this got the shittiest tail assembly known to model helicopters to be worthwhile.

i recommend it to everyone looking to get their gaui tail finally did up.

I just made a new hole slightly off line, and between two original holes with a red hot sewing needle..perfect fit for screwing in Gaui screws

after numerous flights, i have to say i am really happy with the tail now. heim joints chinese weightmod, DS290G servo, and gaui/microheli tail. it is very solid. stops on a dime.
