Default Question for Trex 700L V2 owner (ESC)

I'm building a TREX 700L V2 and in the instruction they show the ESC on top of the receiver mount.

They also provide a cooling fan whit it. The problem is that if installed there...the canopy doesn't fit. Actually you can manage to install it bit the canopy rest against the fan...and I dough it would be efficient
I plan to install it on the stbd side of the receiver mount.
What have you guys done?

i havent tryed the 130 hw on top but it looked to me like it would fit as there was no little cubicle there as in your picture. im using cc 160hv and mounted on the side with fan and it fits but may rub some on canopy. the 160 is huge compared to the 130

It will run very little on the inside top of the canopy. Push up the ESC as far as you can. I can't load my post history right now but if you search my posts you'll come across a thread where I had pictures posted where another member had a similar concern.

I don't have access to a PC right now to get the pictures as I'm the middle of a move, sorry!

Ok I found your post: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...&highlight=esc

I did installed a countersink screw on the front or the fan...I try fit and if I install it approximately at the same place as in your picture I can install the canopy but still hitting the screw and I don't want to stress the canopy specially on the edge of the cut out. I think it is prone to make a crack. I will probably install it on the side...it fit there perfectly, and I will install my receiver on the top instead.

Thanks

Sorry also didn't realize you were installing this on the new 700L v2. Not sure if the length is different of the front electronics tray. If you place it on the side like you posted that'll work fine as well.

Enjoy the maiden! Looks like you're almost there!

It is the same on the 700x. Very tight and the canopy just touches the fan a little. Works like a charm though! Good luck with your maiden.

I'm sure this is too late for your build but here is what I did and why:

I wanted to be able to access the esc programming port so I kept the esc on top. All I did was trim the canopy a little bit. Fits no problem.

I also wanted the microbeast on the side so it was protected and all my wiring was perfect fit.

Receiver I am running srxl with AR7700 on the opposite side.
