Just noticed on the Align site, that they have just released the metal pitch slider for the 500, so we should be able to buy it in a few days.

They both have a metal tail belt unit and a metal tail pitch assy. so I guess it is only a matter if time (days?) before they will also have metal tail blade grips with some decent bearings.

Trex mad. "Funny" but I can't even find the tail for the T-rex 600 on their web site.

I would really like to "look at the quality" before I decide where and what to buy.

so you are saying that you are going to use theTREX 600 Tail Grip Assembly on the 500?...will it be a direct replacement or will you have to mod the tail to use them?

Wow, that was fast. They had what, two of them? Yeah, send my commission to the 'Freak for hosting that ad

I also like the gasket that goes over the ball on the pitch slider. It looks like it's taken a few good ideas from other tails and put them together.

Well, I got the CNC tail, and it looks like I'm going to have to grind off the end of the boom to get the thing to fit correctly. Right now I've got the tail on snug, and the boom in the block as far as it'll go, and I can't get the rear pulley in without the belt being too tight (I mean crazy tight). Grinding the boom a bit shorter is the only way I can think of to allow the belt enough slack to run properly.

Kind of annoying... Other minor issues... I had to tear it down and rebuild to get all the parts working smoothly (no grease in thrust bearings for example). I checked for loctite (looks like they got everything). I also noticed when I rebuilt the thrust bearings that they had used very different sized washers on either blade end. Not sure why, but one side was far less than smooth, so after greasing the bearings and putting new matching washers, all the parts are now good and free.

All that is no big deal, but having the tail pulley too far back is a bit of an oversight I think... I shouldn't have to make the boom shorter to make the tail work...

Its way too late to be grinding, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to finish assembly.

I'm curious if anyone else who has ordered this will run into the same problem...
