How many of you are using EC5 connectors to connect the Castles ESC to the battery(or batteries) and How many using Deans or Ultra Deans? Also, did your ESC fail or go up in smoke?

I use EC5 and EC3 connectors on all my stuff now. These are the easiest connectors to solder that I have come across. No chance to melt the plastic when trying to make the joint. You do have to be careful of the ends during soldering/putting together to not allow them to touch. I always keep one covered to avoid this.

Dean’s ultra... Nope, no problems with CC here, have been using them since 06' with RC cars and since last summer for helis.

EDIT:
You won’t melt deans (originals) if your iron is powerful enough and you use the correct technique... I have not in 13 years.
Definitely tricky soldering 10AWG wire for a soldering noob but with a bit of practice and the right iron it’s absolutely no problem.

Wrong iron and/or wrong technique and you will melt them... and the knock off deans are awful.
