Post crash troubleshoot HELP
Had a dumb thumb crash/faceplant hard yesterday. Only visible damage was the frame broke. I have repaired the frame. The heli spools up and takes off fine. Here is the weird part. When hovering every couple of seconds it will jump or drop in altitude by about a foot. Reminds me of flying the NANO and how is hovers sometimes like a mad hummingbird. Motor and blades spin freely, there are no vibes. Is there a way to test the motor or esc. Is it something else I am not thinking of?

It doesn't appear to be off or binding, but if you a specific way to check, please let me know

When it drops, does the motor rpm vary?
Does it do it in all modes? |

I don't hear anything. It reminds me of the nano in a gust of wind. But it is dead calm outside

One other thing I can think of is checking the solder connections on the ESC.

The Rpm does go down slightly when it the helicopter drops and up slightly when it bounces back up. But none of that is in my controls. My controls are not moving. If I try to compensate it gets worse because I am over correcting something that is already resolving on its own

I would check all the connections, make sure none of the wires are touching the motor.
If you move the servos up and down by hand does it feel smooth?

Yes all servo movement is good. All linkages are good and solid. All wired connection appear solid. I will unplug all of them and replug them all in again.

I'll remove blades and see if I can recreate it on the table

Like broke dad mentioned, I've had one of the wires come off the ESC. It was easy enough to solder back on.

I decided to build it from scratch. I could use the experience. So I have ordered a new from and will start one step at a time. Checking every piece before it goes back on. The build up with help with the used Trex 500 I have coming.

I'll triple this. It happened to me too. Soon after a crash and after repairs were completed and the helicopter was tested and flew normal. A day or two later I pick it up to look at it and I notice the black wire is completely off the ESC. It came off sometime after the crash, test fly, and repairs. Definitely weakened by the crash,
