If you can't enter the "trim flight mode" something is wrong in the radio setup or you are not correctly entering the mode with the radio.

I have had no issues with the DX6 entering any mode. But I remember on the 200 SRX I could not one time. So what I did was to switch to advanced/high rates and it worked! It was not working at all on beginner mode for some reason. Seems it had to detect the positions at higher than what the low rates throw allows. I think the manual said to use the trims on throttle up with the RTF actually which may corroborate this theory. This may be done to avoid entering the mode with little stick movement and ensure the sticks are well on the corners.

To enter any programming mode (trim flight, servo centering etc.) you have to have 100% d/r on the sticks

This should be a sticky in each and every (sub)forum.

I once tried to get an ESC into program mode (and tried and tried and tried ... )
