No way - I did over 190 kph with my trusty old TRex 700 supercombo without any mods. And I am no speed flyer...
So this one must be way faster. More like 290 kph.

The world speed model record is 189MPH/304KPH. My personal Gaui R5 has done 153MPH based on GPS, however GPS is not the best way to determine speed and this is why its not used in official speed competitions. GPS measures ground speed, not air speed and will not measure accurately on an aircraft of any kind.

It will also give you very high max speeds that are attained doing things like a power loop or fast knife edge turn relative to the ground, but that high speed had nothing to do with how fast you were going during the actual straight and measured part of the speed run. Its like throwing a rock vs tying it to a string and slinging faster and faster it in a circle above your head. Physics is going to make the one on the string move much faster than you can throw it in straight line.

GPS is great for just screwing around, but the sample rate of the GPS must also be high in order to have any chance of any reasonable data. The runs are only a couple seconds if that and many of the hobby GPS devices are only 1-10Hz.

You can't get an accurate reading on a 1.5 second run with only 1 sample per second on the GPS, so you would need a high sample rate over a very long, flat run that could be read separate from any stored max value in order to have any reasonable idea of how fast the model is moving relative to the ground, no differently than a car. GPS telemetry logs would be needed to split out the proper straight part of the run vs a stand alone device that only shows the max attained speed.

Its actually not that hard to make any 500+ sized heli do 100MPH/160KPH without even trying, But just like auto drag racing, you eventually get to a speed threshold where there is a huge increase in power and proper flying technique required to get them to go even a small amount faster
