Default Advice.. First DJI

Sup Freaks!
So I'm a seasoned heli pilot since 2011 and have bought my first quad! I found a very good deal on a DJI 3 pro and wanted to know if you guys have any tips for a new newbie! I've read through all the manuals that I can find on line and have determined that I can use any of my devices as a dedicated monitor (SG5, Nvidia tablet, OP3).

I've read about cycling the lipos every 20 flights. And that it's important to start your flight on a level ground so if RTH takes over, it won't tumble to death on landing.

Any tips or suggestions for me... Or even important resources I should be aware of?

BTW it will be shipped with the older firmware 1.4 (I think that's the number). Will I have any problems with not updating? (I have found that the updated version will implement restrictions).

Thanks guys

Default It ain't a Heli!

Muscle memory and Gyro calibration used to be our biggest worries, This is different. Software is the name of the game now. In many ways, our old swashplate setups were easier. These quad systems are mostly controlled thru motor feedback loop sensors. Motor speeds sense and adjust themselves, manual flying is almost impossible. Even for us.

DJI gives us 2 roads to travel: 1. Race type flying 2. Autonomous pre programmed flying. The latter is a whole science unto itself with software being the main focus and the main pain in the ass.

You have a long road ahead, but if you already fly heli's, you already know you can do it. You'll also spend less for every crash
