Just one more important thing I forgot to mention:
please de-activate the switch in the TX in case the retracts electronics are installed when using the fixed landing gear as suggested in my former message!

Accidental activation of the retract mechanism with the fixed landing gear in place will destroy the motor as these will clash.

Alternatively make an appropriate cut out in the front leg of the right landing strut!

Regards,

Belgo

no need to cut into the leg , just remove the mounting bracket with the links connected to it . this way you have no problem if you accidentally hit the switch .

I was having trouble with my optiguard fitting no matter how I placed it. Would give me trouble installing battery tray. So I separated the batterey from the board, and installed the board with double sided clear tape to underside of lipo tray. also gave easier access to the swith to power down the unit without haveing to remove lipo tray.

The position as per my pictures the battery tray seems to fit just fine...a tiny amount of pressure is added and some patience to ensure all connection point are in place. Your option is definitely easier with regards to switching off the unit.

May be the way my series lead is routed to connect batteries. It runs behind the tray so if I have it in certain position tray slides on or hangs up.
But it definitely makes switching on/off alot easier

crickr1, if you have time a picture would be nice.

I am trying to make this thread a fast visual of different configurations.

I know it is a tight fit, but this is what I did:
I moved the back plate 2 mm to the front to provide enough clearance.
(obviuosly this takes some grinding of the slots and reaming of the slotted holes....)

I also glued some reinforcement to the front part of the tray (top and below).

Couple pics, I also had to replace batt from optiguard used this one.did try fitting stock unit first before I split. Overall I think a very convenient solution. Easy access to switch, and little more space.

I just love that one although it is not related to electronic and wiring.

Thanks for sharing

I had never heard of the Hitec PAD. I wonder if other manufacturers of servos need a similar device but are not telling.

Good catch. I wonder what it consists of? There is using a cap which it doesn't look big enough to be doing and the inline R2 protection device which distributes power to the servos that I know of.

Has anyone incorporated the inline I/U sensor from Mikado? Or is everyone with VControl waiting for the direct Kontronik/Mikado integration coming later this summer?
