customer service called me a liar
I bought an oxy 3 kit the servo rods only had circle cut around the shaft on 2 of them, 1 had a helical cut threaded on great. so I email oxy to let them know about it told them if they want send me another set fine. but I have new ones on the way. I send them a pic of the shaft even. I get an email back from thao. hi thao...... saying my pic of the shaft was dubious. dubious for those of you who don't know means suspect a lie unreliable.
so don't contact oxy and let them know if something went wrong with anything they did because you will be told your dubious. great customer service |

You say you couldn't screw the links on? The pic doesn't show anything to me, although a bit blurry, they don't look that much different than normal.

No I couldnt. Even after holding it with a pair of pliers in the center.and pushing as hard as I could.if it's just circles cut on the shaft nothing with a screw on you need a helical cut for something to screw on.
But anyhow just got a email 5 min ago they are sending me new ones. |

You should have a spare link rod in the spare parts bag .

Try screwing on the opposite direction?

Hmm super blurry pic, since l cant see what you are talking about, to me they are dubious. And I am not calling you liar, just talking about the pics. Next time you want to be taken seriously try to make the pictures cristal clear as they would be your only unrefutable proof.

Mainboom, two things to consider.
1. The Oxy support guys don't seem to be native english speakers. I've worked with Thao before, nice guy, english is good enough to get by, I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it. 2. To snap a good picture, first you need good light. Phones with their tiny sensors just don't do well indoors under dim light. Go outside in full noon sun and snap another picture. Also see if you phone has a "Macro" or closeup mode, usually it will be a picture of a flower or something. Get as close as you can to the object without it appearing blurry on the screen. |

I wouldn't take it so personal. You must remember your dealing with Italians and English is not their native language. They probably meant to say ambiguous judging by the pics you sent. I found Lynx to have really good customer service the one and only time I had an issue with them. As far as screwing on the plastic link ends goes, I've had to heat the threaded rod before inserting on the ends. Now, I use a drill and small bit as a reamer. Be careful not to over ream though. Insert the bit in just enough so you can get the rod to start threading.

Maybe he just meant the shaft looked a bit dubious, as in not quite right. I can't imagine he meant that you were really lying about it! The blurred pics are not helping much either.

Using macro mode and some decent light you can get close, even with a crusty phone like my G2.

Even with the picture being blurry it's still easy to see that the threads were not cut properly on one end. Seen this before although not with heli's. It happens.

Thao is a female. lol
These small threads look ok. Blowing them up will make them look bad because how small they are. Sorry for your issues. These take a lot of pressure and a bit to get started so they hold. Before I found out what worked for me. I used to put a small angle in the tip of the ball like with a little over size drill bit. Glad they sent you some new ones anyways. |

When English isn't a first language sometimes a translating app is used which doesn't always pick the correct words. I would write this off using the phrase, "lost in translation." I don't think they would say something to offend you, it just came out that way. It's a great heli, enjoy it, and don't let this ruin your day.
