Default Servo Choice for EVO 770

Bought a set of good condition used MKS HBL960 (cyclic) and HBL990 (tail) a while back and thinking about using them for my 770 Evo build. Will they be sufficient?

My current blade of choice will be the RT 760's, but toying with the idea of Align 780's at some point.

Servo specs are:
HBL960 : 0.10 sec/60° - 229.14 oz/in @7.2V

HBL990 : 0.03 sec/60° - 87.49 oz/in @8.2V

I read that OTS said that any modern servo will work, but is there a minimum recommended torque/speed rating for the 770 Evo?

Thanks!

I also have some BK 8001 bls and Xpert 5401 bls, but they would require playing 'musical heli part swap'...

Those servos are plenty. I wouldn't hesitate to use them with any large heli. Specs are super flashy but they are great in the air from all reports.

Nothing wrong with those servos. The will work very well.

OTS is right. Basically any modern servo will work. Go back 4-5 years and many servos had half the torque. Align 610's for example. I know many guys who still use them. Maybe not on an 800 but many many 700's.

MKS is one of the best servos on the market. I think you will be really happy with what you have.

My current favorite full size servos are the Xpert R1 and R2 servos. That been said, I've never experienced any issues with MKS servos. I used the earlier generation MKS HBL950/980 servos on a heavy 700 size Miniature Air Whiplash and they perform flawlessly. I can only assume that your next generation HBL960/990 will not disappoint.

I like Futuba's 255/256, or 272/276.

I just bought an evoluzion, and it came with Futaba 272/276 combo. I'm sure the tail will be just fine, but do these cyclic servos have enough torque for 760mm setup?

Tia!

Should be perfectly fine. I've seen people get away with bls 451s on a goblin 770.

Matt Botos was running 272's on his Synergy 766 so I think they will be fine.
