another first time buyer question
im sorry if this has been asked a million times but i couldn't find an answer that what i was looking for.
so i have been flying 3 channel coaxial for a while now and have mastered it (even though i know thats not hard) now i want to make my next purchase and have been looking at what the 6 channels can do and thats what i want. So im wondering if its stupid of me to by a 6channel instead of first getting a 4 channel. I dont have much knowledge on exactly how different its going to be comparing a 4 ch to a 6ch. I like to think of my self as someone who can figure out pretty much anything i try so let me hear your thoughts on what i should get. Also any recommendations on what chopper i should get i dont really want to spend more then 200 bucks im also not looking for the best thing out there cause im looking at this as the first of many i will buy. thanx for your help |

I would say a FP (Fixed Pitch) single rotor heli might be a good next step. At least in the $200.00 range. Some would also recommend a flight simulator program for training.
Once you move up to CP (Collective Pitch) your investment is going to go up. $$$$$ You'll need a good transmitter and a cp heli. The 450 class is what a lot us have and have had through the learning process. http://www.swashplate.co.uk/ehbg-v18/ehbg_index.html

HeliDirect, Ready Heli, Horizon Hobby, and Grand RC are all known for their service.
I would recommend the MCPX and a simulator for a low cost entry point or go for the 450 series with a simulator if the budget allows. The MCPX has it's drawbacks but those are not as important as the model's durability. You will crash a lot learning.

Also consider your flying area, will you be flying inside, outside, both. Do you have handy access to a large flying area that are suitable/ safe to fly in. All your answers should give you an idea of type and size of heli. Also choose a model that parts are abundant and available, nothing worse than waiting weeks for parts to arrive. really pays off to order spares at time of purchase, may not cost you extra shipping if included with heli. Parts i would normaly get are. Blades-Tail blade- Main shaft- feathering shaft- Blade grips-Tail shaft if hollow carbon fibre-Extra batterys. This does all add up but thats the nature of the hobby.
Mark.

I would think very carefully about getting a 450 clone, a 450 by all means, this will be my next heli. I have done extensive research over the last 6 months both reviews and asking helifreaks who have these helis. I keep being told by the time i upgrade the clone i will spend as much or close to a well put together/quality heli that i will be happy with. I really cant afford to end up not being happy with my heli then have to buy another one.
Im sure this will be open to huge debate, but thats Great. This is only my opinion i hope you get all the info you need and enjoy your heli. Mark.
