Default USB update dondle

I have installed the update software and driver for the dondle. I cannot get the gt5 tools software to recognize the interface. I am using windows 8.1 and have installed a fresh version of java.

I have opened the device manager and can see the interface on com 3 port, and select that in the options menu, but get nothing. I even have tried auto detect, but it never recognizes the interface.

Any ideas?

It seems like I am getting the software to recognize the dondle now. If I hit options, then autodetect, then plug in my dondle, it will show that it recognized the dongle on com port 3 like my device manager shows.

But then I try to connect to gt5 and it gives me the error message saying Data transfer failed. No data received.

I am plugging into the term port on gt5 with the white side of the cable towards the top.

Is it possible I need to unplug everything else from my gt5? I have sbus signal wire in imp1 and four servos plugged in. I am also supplying power through the throttle channel.

It sounds like the software wont communicate with version 1.0.

Does anyone have the update software or know where I can find it. Its hard to read the manual, but the file looks like 22_HW20\21_HW20.gt5upd

Are you fully booting up the GT 5 before plugging the usb to the gyro?
I saw where that solved that issue with someone else.
