Default Kind of Newbie

Hey guys-

Let me start off with a bit of history. I used to have a trex500, but got way too nervous flying it. I have been flying planes for almost 15 years, mostly 3D and giant scale electrics. I want to try out a flybarless 3d heli as i think it will relieve some of my nervs since it is a lot less to repair (complexity wise) than a traditional flybar heli like my old trex 500. I want to have a top of the line setup. so what would be a good system?

ive also heard of some flybarless systems (again, i am new to flybarless so i dont know if this exists or not) but if you get in trouble they can self right with a switch flip. which one, if there is one, does that?

thanks,
Erik

Hekicommand Hc3sx $450 if you find the right eBay seller otherwise $550 US. I just installed 3 of these on my heli's it's like flying a sim with a reset button cause you'd have to be daft to let the heli crash just flick the gear switch anytime you lose control. Levels so fast you wouldnt believe also stops the heli traveling forwards mostly and climbs quickly. Handles vibrations very well. Can be set to horizon mode so it flys like a newbie coaxial heli if you want which would probably be useful for people to learn on and you can slowly turn that mode further and further off till your flying rigid. Truely I was giving my new heli's death today it saved 3 crashes today along. Of course wouldn't of crashed if I wasn't running it as I'd be flying tamer stuff well within my skill set but it's just awesome to have a get out of jail free card. My last 500EFL crash cost $400 so yeah it will pay for itself.

2nd option is
Skookum sk720 - levels heli much like the hc3sx, don't know if it climbs by itself. but too many posts I've read say it hates vibrations and you don't know if the bailout will always work as if it senses too high vibs it disables the bailout mid flight. Lots of people love this unit and others gave upand moved to a hc3sx or back to lesser FBL systems.

After putting a hc3sx on my trex 500efl today I'm just blown away with the confidence it gives and how well it flys. Really leaves the competion looking like old tech by comparison. Highly recommend the hc3sx.

Of course it's super expensive and FBl heli's fly so much easier and better than Flybar anyways, so not needed and more of a luxury product. The beastx is a great unit ar7200bx if you use spectrum. And the new skoomk 540 is also highly praised. Next month a $250 new MSH Brain FBL system comes out that seems good Low price and will level your heli as well, no info on the leveling characteristics but we'll see when it's released.
