Default Main gear keeps stripping

Any thoughts on why the main gear (stock) has striped for the 2nd straight time? Both times, I never got off the ground and heli tipped over as I hit TH. What I can't tell if it's stripping prior or striping as the blades tip over. This is over grass so resistance shouldn't be too bad. Today's gear was brand new.

One thought is if the pinion is destroying the gear? The heli is 2nd hand but the pinion looks stock as is the motor. Another thought is if I installed the gear wrong and the connection is not right.

Thanks.

Well...I figured it out. The motor and the mount slid too far away from the main gear. All seems normal now.

Check the motor mount holes in the frame.
The motor in one of mine actually had some movement due to the heat from the brushless motor melting the mounting holes in the frame, which caused the motor to move enough to screw up the gear mesh.

Lynx actually came out with a support to help this situation.

Also check the main shaft bearings to make sure the mainshaft is not pulling away from the pinion.

Hope this helps.

HW.

Thank you!

I actually have the Xtreme frame so it's a bit different. The mount is allowed to slide fore and aft to (I guess) compensate for different pinion/main gear combos. I would never have realized except I really paid attention when spooling up on the bench after installing a new gear. I'm glad I found the root cause to the stripping..(other than crashing, of course).

How do you find that Xtreme frame for the B gear? Mine is always loose and had to shim it quite a lot to stop it slipping back off the A gear. It's great to be able to adjust the motor/ main gear mesh

Short answer? I don't know any better. I have nothing to compare it to as I got this heli 2nd hand.

I've only attempted to fly it a few times and I've had to deal w/ the A and B gears while messing w/ the shaft to work w/ the main gear. I don't see any wiggle and the gears all seem to mesh very well. It's a tight fit for sure.

Hope this helps!

Mmmm makes me think I have a bearing missing or something amiss. I also have a 100% stock 130x and a microheli fbl rotary servo one
