Default Forza autorotation unit issue

Hi All,
Recently I bought a JR Forza 700 and I am having an issue putting it together.
There is now way this heli is doing an autorotation, the autorotation sleeve is way to tight in the autorotation unit.

It is very hard to insert the sleeve into the bearings and sprang, and once it is in the rotation is far to tight. No way the blades will keep spinning of the motor is shut of.

I have tried some triflow thin oil on it but that does nothing, but make a mess.

Could you please help me out?

Regards,

Menno

The bearing is like a spray type bearing. It could be the bearings in the housing has gotten flipped ove someway. You should be able to take your finger and see if you can flip it. If that don't work then it is evidently a bad one and should be sent back

Thank you for getting back to me... I find it hard to tell with way the sprangs should sit...

I have attached some pictures looking at it from above.

Other thing is that is was quite hard getting the sleeve through the first radial bearing aswell. Wasn't binding it up but it is a very tight fit.

Regards,
Menno

There is one caught under the other one. That cant be that way It looks like the way the pic is that it needs to go clockwise. One is not and has a gap. I don't know if that will fix it or not but I would try to get them all even going the one direction the majority are.

Thanks for all your help and time.

Last night before shut eye I was searching for some pictures of Forza one ways. I've found one and that doesn't really seem like a need arrangement aswell.

I have tried tyding it up with my finger but the sleeve won't budge. It is also realy hard getting it through the first radial bearing.

To me it seems like the sleeve is just a tad to big...

Did email the online vendor yesterday, lets see what they come up with...

Yep that is what I would do. Unusual as I have yet to see anything on all the forzas we have built and been involved with that something didn't fit right. But there can always be something that slips through

That would be awesome... Thanks...

I've got word from the EU distributor, this is a new issue for them and they are telling me to sort it out with the online vendor.

Haven't heard from them yet...

What kind of a distributor have you got? If I needed mine taken care of JR Americas will handle it no problem. I would think they would.

Or did you buy it from someone on line like RC Japan?

Ok I took our gear off tonite and measured the od of the sleeve. It is 0.588 thousands of an inch or 14.97 mm. It does go into the outer bearings hard. I cant even move ours. Take the sleeve and put it in the freezer for a few hours and then take a heat gun and warm up the hub. It will prolly go right in but Ryan said when he put ours together it went pretty hard. The one way will still work free tho. It will be ok if you have those dimensions.

I live in the Netherlands. I have bought it from a big and know online shop in Europe. There is a distributor voor the EU in England, MacGregor... I have heard from them telling me to contact the online shop... The shop must be busy this time of year...

Got my hands on a analog calliper...

My sleeve came in at 15.00mm... as far as I can tell

Did not have time to put the sleeve in the freezer... Busy days...

Well that sleeve might be out of tolerance. I am not sure what it is but that is quite a bit bigger than mine

14.97mm to 15.00mm

It was an analog calliper... So not sure how accurate the reading is...

I sure hope its just the sleeve, that cheap to replace.

Thanks again for all your effords!

Oh I used a digital one. I would just cool it and shove it in. I think you will find it is ok. Ours went in so hard I almost couldn't push it. Even tapped it with a plastic hammer. But it will work nice. I don't see where you are far off

A good tight fit makes things work better. It just isnt going in the outer races easy. Ryan said he had a heck of a time putting ours together too but it works perfect. They way I told you should make it easier. Just make sure you put it in the right side

I know, that's not what I mean. I find it odd mine binds when I can seem to find anything wrong...

The radial bearing tightness I can fix, but if it still doesn't spin free there is something wrong.

My main problem is that the one way doesn't spin free when holding the main gear and spinning the sleeve clockwise...

There is usually a bit more drag with a new Sprag than with a ramp-roller clutch (the Sprag is stronger, though). This goes away with use.

Did you lube it with ATF?

Is it so tight that it is hard to turn, or does it seem like it will break in with a small amount of use?
