Default Massive sell off on lynx site

Looks like lynx are planning on axing the 130x parts soon. They are all on major sell off discounts so I guess once gone that's it the end of a fun heli. Well at least we have the 180 cfx now

I don't know how "massive" it is, but I think it just means they aren't making parts for it anymore. "Sell off" is the term they use and if you look through the site you will see it on MANY items.

Yes which is actually a good thing because manufactures appear to be making products that don't need upgrades and fixing any flaws rather quickly with updated parts.

Sure Blade will still push out half tested models but even their stuff seems fixable with firmware updates instead of $100-200 worth of upgrades.

With Lynx gone they better keep it that way cause word was already spreading so there was alot less people around willing to spend $200+ on a toy heli and another $200 in upgrades to get it to work right.

When there's such a good supply of high quality used helis at rock bottom prices in the classifieds you'd have to either be totally uninformed or a flat out idiot to do that nowadays.

Can understand those that already have one that's been tweaked a lil here n there over time. Other than that all you're doing is paying Oxy3 money for something half as good. Add in the fact many will eventually crash them back to stock making it a total waste of money and it makes no sense whatsoever.

Of course some people have the money and simply like shiny bits, nothing wrong with that.

Yes but we are talking sub micro here.. oxy 3 and the like just don't fit into that category. I'd hardly call a RC helicopter 3D capable a toy by any means of the word. All the ones selling cheap in classifieds are also micro up so more 450 size.

Besides MH still have plenty of spares so we are saved

I keep one stock , one hybrid and one is full upgrades no blade parts on it lol.

For the love of sub micro

One of my main passion of these petit helis is the safety factor. I dumb thumbed my hybrid (Xtreme spin motor) 130x the other day right into my leg. No cuts, no bruises. Yes a slight redness in that area but no pain. They are so safe. Ok could still have your eye out but a bigger bird would kill you in that region.

Imagine doing that with an oxy 3 youd be rushing to hospital. I don't plan on testing that one out. But accidents happen. Parts fail no matter what brand.

Totally agree. The OXY2 coming out that's just a touch bigger than the 180 so should work in roughly the same space as a 130-180 but it's going to cost about the same as a 450 to get in the air which is more than I care to spend on a heli that size.

Although if you're really into small helis and want a true high performance 3d capable one then it will be the way to go. For me 180 down is for playing around bouncing off trees in the backyard and other things I wouldn't dream of doing with my other helis, wouldn't want an expensive one.

Actually a 250-300 isn't as bad as you think bouncing off your leg or a hooded sweatshirt, doesn't even leave a mark. Your face/neck or bare skin on the other hand will have a more dramatic result.

Attacked myself with a 450 in my early days disintegrating the mains across my bare upper arm an shoulder. Left welts raised higher than I thought possible but still didn't draw blood.

Far from pleasant but unless it hits your face/neck/throat you'll be fine. Of course 1 in a million injuries happen every day so anything's possible. Also think a 300 running plastic blades has the potential to do more damage than a 450 running 325mm cf since the blades won't shatter absorbing a lot of the impact.

Once you hit 500class it's going to #$*^ you up!!!! Lol

That is why starting off with a 700 really wakes you up to the damage/death that can come from this hobby.

I will crash a 300 before it gets within ten feet of me while it is out of my control.

I need one of those T-shirts that say"If you see me running, try to catch up."

exactly how I feel. That's why I keep to the micro/ sub micro models. Until I fly like tareq and have 100% confidence these smaller models are perfect for me. They are a great learning tool for the mechanics and science as well as handling. Even the safe tech that is coming out now has to be seriously practice to be effective. I've dumb thumbed a few times on safe trying to get to the bind switch in a panic
