Does anybody have dimensions of the GSR260 fuel tank? I recently acquired an Ergo Z230 and looking for a better fuel tank. From pictures, it looks like the dimensions could be very similar where it mounts into the frames. I know JR has a reputation for making parts cross-compatible with their other heli models, at least back in the day...

Thanks!

I noticed in the construction that you did NOT bond the pinion gear to the bearing block as advised in the instructions. I did, but after two seasons the bond didn't hold and it wore out the top of the pinion gear so badly that the pinion was skipping on the main gear and the lower bearing in the bearing block was trashed. It's quite the job to get the assembly out. You're either dropping the engine which is a chore or splitting the frames in half which I did. I bought some industrial Loctite that I was advised I would probably never get the pieces apart without damaging them, but they don't cost that much, so if that is ever required, I'll just buy a new pinion and bearing block. Hope you don't run into this issue.

I'm going to swap out the engine fairly soon, I'll take a look at it

I'm also have a K&S ZGSR26 conversion for it that I'll install a bit later. That totally changes the model

Is that the complete new frame set? I'm actually pretty curious about that one myself. Post plenty of pics!

Thank you so much! Looks like it'll be a direct drop-in for my Ergo Z230! Can't wait to get my tank in!

Edit - Got the GSR tank in, it's a direct fit for the old JR Ergo Z230. Thanks again for the dimensions.

I attempted to buy the GSR260Z FBL Sport from RC Japan this morning and could not find it on the JR Glow/Gas helicopter section. After some searching I found it on the discontinued section. Can anybody confirm that the FBL Sports version has been discontinued? That is what I get for waiting for the yen to fall a little more before making the purchase

Default GSR260z Sports FBL - Availability

Jason,
The kit that is discontinued on RCJP is the 88315 which was the kit w/ servos and FBL controller.,
The 88314 is still available but I think you will find it more expensive than at JRAmericas.
JRAmericas never carried the 88315

Smile Many thanks Carey GSR260z

Many thanks Carey. I am now 50% through my GSR260Z build.
Your post has been a great help and has made the build easier.
Must say I have always built Hirobo kits as I have always liked the quality of their kits and the build manual is very clear to understand.

I decided to build the Futaba kit as I wanted a large petrol Heli and
although the parts are of a very high standard and I absolutely love the Heli, the same cant be said for the build instructions. ( mine was all in Japanese...)

Thank again very much appreciated.

Nick

never seen one, the only conversion kit I've ever seen for it is this one

http://www.rcjapan.net/index.php?mai...shuagn26f90qp5

which appears to have been discontinued

I know this is an old thread, but are these parts still available from K&S?

yes still flying however parts are hard to come by at this point. Best bet is to buy an air frame and use for parts, there were some differences between drivetrain parts between the older and newer versions but a lot of the chassis parts are the same.

Hi Folks,

THis is an old thread I know, but does this engine use a magneto (i.e. no ignition battery)? Also, what is the recommended oil and mix for this motor?
